Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

Our guys over in Los Angeles sent us this video of F1 2010, showing a full lap of the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track in the rain. Quite convincing looking, at least using the in-car view.

Looks like arcade crap :( and the driver is moving the steering wheel way too much at the high speed.

From what I've heard, you're able to choose between realistic and more arcade-like approach. They're offering both in the game.

Or that's atleast what I can recall they said from the beginning.

Yeah very realistic, ever watched F1?

When have you seen cars driving over the kerbs on such a wet track, my ass realistic, if you woud drive like that over the kerbs you would spin in every corner!

Also how he takes L'Eau Rouge is just laughable, total wrong line not even close to ideal line and yet he drives it with really high speed and on a wet track, thats super realistic, like a flying cow.

Don't know the settings of the AI and the driving helps. Looks like there is some brake assist.

It's quite obviously on a low difficulty. Look at the catch-up on the McLaren which drives past the RBR and almost the Ferrari.

It also looks like whoever is playing is using the d-pad. The steering is very erratic and twitchy.

Hopefully there is a demo released though, I'd like to try it myself to see how good it is on the simulation mode.

I think it is because gamepad was used not the steering wheel. And yes they said that it'll suport sim and arcade modes. Graphicaly rain looks very good, but i'm still not sure about the sunny sunday races.

That has got to be the best rain-on-camera that I've ever seen. Very nice...

No doubt this was on an easy setting with no damage (even a racing line is on) so realism is no doubt better in the final thing, but lets face it its a game so realism has to be balanced with fun.

Looks real nice, but I noticed a lot of codemasters' games have this twitchy steering wheel animation. Its like the wheel has little to no resistance to the driver (noticed this in other games like grid and dirt)

Does anyone know if GT5 will have an F1 component? I'm considering buying a PS3 and GT5 just for the Top Gear Test Track, and this will only make the purchase more likely (I already have an Xbox 360).

No, as far as I know GT 5 won't have any F1 cars, other than the Ferrari F1 car in the Prologue

It's a shame that you have to say you own a 360/PS3 JUST so you don't get pounced on by the dickless.

If GT does have an F1 component, it probably won't be as fleshed out and authentic as this game (although if Codemasters DUUUUUDE this one up, I'll personally make sure every fucker working on it chokes on their cereal).

I don't know what to think of what I just saw. Good and bad at the same time. I can already tell this won't win any physics awards (everything skyform said is correct), but just seeing an F1 car with that camera angle, in Spa, with those graphics.........makes me so biased.

Looks hyper crazy. I wonder if people will be able to keep up with the computer who doesn't have to care about reflexes or anything and just goes along the preprogrammed lines, especially on a wet road.

I'd say RDR has a really nice effect too.

Also, it would be nice to see the sim mode or whatever, because yeah, there is no point in this game if that's no good.

Actually there'll be other F1 cars besides the F2007 that's already in GT5 Prologue. In the GT5 E3 trailer there's reference to Red Bull Racing team at the end of the trailer and Red Bull uses both Renault and Ferrari engine for their main and secondary team respectively. Both Renault (via Nissan) and Ferrari have a strong relationship with Polyphony, GT5 developer.

CM's F1 2010 will still be the ultimate F1 game but if what you're after is a more satisfying driving experience, rFactor on the PC and GT5 will probably provide a much better experience.

A great video of the F2007 in Prologue:

Nice to see the F-Duct detail on the McLaren. The game is looking good, we'll have to play it to see if it plays/feels good though.
