Got it and started playing and i really like the combat. Only problem is that like as soon as i touch down on Eos and start doing the first mission i just run in to this goddamn impossible encounter. It's like a billion laser shooting robots all over the place and no amount of jumping, boosting or cowering behind cover makes the fight even remotely possible to win. The enemies just takes a retarded amount of hits, my AI team mates die in 5 seconds and then they just swarm me. Wtf game!? I mean, i know i picked a harder difficulty but this is just ridiculous.

Cool game otherwise, though the story is kinda lame.

Character movement is ok most of the time (but can look truly odd), but facial animations are terrible most of the time.

No no, i just have to suite my self. I picked the fucking scrapper class and figured it'd be fun bashing in to enemies, using the shotty and melee after, then jumping and boosting around to get away. But that shit don't work. If there is more than one guy around, that ability is suicide. you have to wait until one guy gets separated. I should have just picked biotic, or specialised in just shooting my guns. That'd probably be way more efficient, and less frustrating.

Took the combat difficulty down to normal. Now my abilities work like they should (ie i can crash in to a guy, and smash him with a melee combo for a kill, but it leaves me in a bad position), but all encounters are instead completely trivial, cause the enemies do like no damage and i just execute them with impunity with my shotty. Goddammit.

ME:A's difficulty is a little higher than previous ME games. Though one thing to keep in mind is that you can always increase the difficulty if you feel you're too overpowered. That's what I kept doing with Tales of Berseria, kept the combat fun and interesting till the end of the game.

I honestly prefer to have a hard time and learn to overcome it by learning and re-learning a game's mechanics till I'm great at them than decreasing difficulty. There's nothing wrong with decreasing the difficulty, but to me it just feels like I gave up instead of persisting till I get good enough.

I'm playing through Dead Space 3 right now, and after starting at the Normal difficulty because for some reason I remembered the game was very hard, I got bored at the middle of Chapter 4 - yeah, I was well ahead.

Enemies didn't scare me because their numbers, damage and health weren't something to worry about. This also made the game way, way less scary. But after putting in the Impossible difficulty, the game feels much more scary since every encounter will kill you if you're not careful in spending resources and how you fight.

I'm actually quite enjoying DS3 now, which is crazy since the game itself is not very good, but that tension you get when fighting for your life in a very difficult situation works very well for games like these - Shooters - imho.

Sdarts: the problem is obviously that they designed the game to work in the "normal" mode, then just bumped damage and health up in harder difficulties. This is not a huge issue if you pick another starter class, but the scrapper that relies on being up close gets completely shafted. I rerolled a biotic, nowhere near as hard to survive with as i can no do some crowd control and do damage from range.
