XCOM EU: Welcome to the base

A bit late but here is the latest dev diary of XCOM: Enemy Unknown where Firaxis talks about the base, the place where the player will be elaborating offensive and defensive plans against the invading enemies. The game will be out on October 9th (12th in Europe).

Can't wait to customize my base. Should be one of the best turn based strategy games to come out in a long time.

I was a little worried about this game, if they will not destroy the original idea and gameplay of the first games, but it looks better and better.

digi_matrix I don't think you've played enough Metro, because there is humor in these games to offset. Uhlman in 2033 was pretty much comedic relief. Call of Duty takes itself more seriously than Metro. (5 Hours ago)

KORNdog I could see them working in a game with themes that fit, say, army of two, or team fortress. But it doesn't really have a place in a game like metro... (6 Hours ago)
