The artistic wealth of A Plague Tale

The artistic wealth of A Plague Tale

In A Plague Tale: Innocence, Amicia and her brother Hugo will have to cut a path through various environments of the Kingdom of France, ravaged by the war and the black plague. Today's new screenshots show the beautiful landscapes and artistic style from Asobo Studio rendered with the developer's in-house engine.

This game really impressed me with its E3/GC 2018 16 Minutes Gameplay. Looks really great as well. 2019 promises to be just like 2017 and 2018, full of great games - too many for anyone to play them all, even if juat the great ones.

These look great. Wasn't the game previously using unreal engine 4? It still looks a lot like an ue4 game

very pretty lighting and art design. the gameplay mechanics are pretty simple but you could say the same for a game like "Inside", which didn't use more than a jump button and left many impressed. this project is definitely going to be on my indie backlog and leaves much to be a mystery. good work so far!

b0vril yea, I don't really know how emulation works. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite The CPU will probably have multiple compatibility layers, replicating each architecture. Most likely just for PS3 and 4. Any decent CPU within the last decade has the PSX covered. (5 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @KORNdog: Probably an architecture thing, or something to do with the bios. Most emulation is brute forced. There's a good reason why the likes of PS3 are only now being efficiently emulated. (5 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog Bit isn't that just like any emulator? Isn't a SNES emulator on a modern PC pretending to be that old hardware to give more accurate results during emulation? (10 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @b0vril: what I don't understand about it is everything I've read says it lets the CPU "pretend" to be the native CPU of the console it's running backwards compatible games for. (10 Hours ago)
