Page 1 2 >>DLing the vid now, motorstorm is something I have to see with every new video. :)
Why do so many of the videos not have sound, is there too much background noise?
Also, it's about time they show some new levels by now... :(
The gameplay seems like it will be quite a challenge - very rewarding I expect!
Roll on March *grin*
And that is what bothers me in other racers like Forza for example, if they're only on racing tracks, I tend to get bored rather quickly, I need that variation in enviroments to keep me interested...(others may not find this very objectionable though)...
The game has plenty of speed, in case you didn't notice the player didn't use the boost much ;-) When playing I guess you have to balance speed versus control, which I imagine is what the player was doing in this video ;)
True indeed, it's not necessarily the top speed, but more the acceleration that bothers me, it's just a bit to slugish at first...
Jato, my problem with that idea is that, all tracks in racing games are pretty much the same anyway. they don'tchange the gameplay by having it in different environments, they just "look different". With Motorsorm, they can't pull this trick, meaning they will have to vary the tracks alot to give variety rather than just changing the backgrounds. Get my meaning? It could be a good thing if they do, it would be bad if they didn't.
I speak for myself here, as many probably won't be all that bothered, but I really "need" those varied settings to keep me interested.
But yeah, with a game like Motorstorm which is set in the desert that can be difficult to realise, so I'm hoping they go all out on the enviroments and add some water, buldings tree's etc, even though it isn't all that realistic.. ;)
huh? We must be watching different videos then because the boost _is_ the acceleration... and when they use it it looks like the 'warp' rush you get from other speed freak games like ridge racer/wipeout :-/
For example, if you just slightly bump into someone, you obviously lose quite a bit of speed, and if it takes too long to get up to speed again, that can get annoying, that's pretty much what I mean...

So much neat stuff, from the visuals, to the physics, to the mad gameplay - definate thumbs up from me so far :D
But i must say, the game does look beautiful
I still think they should've went for an extremely wet and muddy track, tyres muddy and throwing the mud everywhere to the vehicles at your back, your wind wipers going crazy, smudging and all.
Oh well, looks great!
I hope there will be a twisted metal black racer for the next gen....i mean imagine this game with guns!
I doubted the game when the first pre rendered video was showed

Actually one of the best things with regards to Motorstorm is the realtime track deformation, and it looks really good too. A while back at GDC, I believe, they showed off a demo with one of the guys on a bike doing donuts near a parked trailor, and mud was flying and sticking to the trailor. I dont know why they dont show off the levels with the wet mud, but it will be in the game. :)
Saw a video from ign with sound..and it's a whole different experience.. the crashes feel so real and explosive.. It's almost shocking!
That slow motion gets old fast.
So that's what we've sunk to... complaining about slow-mo... Haloallday... :|
