Right.
This is getting really annoying.

Worms does own and all, but there's some quality stuff here all around. Catan looks awesome, and SoTN man! Come on, have a heart. <3

I came in here expecting to see screenshots of the Atari classics making their rounds on the arcade soon, just based on your comment. Not that those games look bad, but I can see how someone may not think Warlords and Centipede stand up to todays standards. Personally they're two of my favorite games ever :P

Alien Hominid + online co-op? I'm so there.

How come Worms only ever shows two teams in screenshots? Is this version only two player?

It's flippin' arcade games, what do we expect?
Yeah yeah, your ten star dinner on a silver plate... sure dude.

I think it's been far too long for Luxor to show up though.
That game kept me going for a week straight.

I will definitely download Castlevania and Worms. But what about Alien Hominid? Is it a platformer? Looks pretty.

Side scrolling shooter, a la Contra. It's available for NGC, and the original Xbox (and PS2?), but having it in HD and with online co-op is a nice bonus. It is made by Behemoth, the same developer as the future XBLA title, Castle Crashers.

someones walking on thin ice :P

Still all look pretty good considering they are, XBLA games. Of course my top picks are Worms, Castlevania, and Luxor, those are pretty much day 1 purchases. However, Catan and Alien Hominid look good and pretty interesting. I'll keep an eye out on them for sure.

Thanks for the pics, Blim!

Try the original flash game. Funny game.

I have actually never played SotN before, so i really looking forward to that title. I used to love Castlevania on the NES and SNES systems. Worms of course is one of my favorite all time party games, so that one is a must-have.

I have no idea what Catan is however. Looks like some kind of old board game i can never appreciate.

I don't know if you replied to the wrong guy or not, but the annoying part was about people complaining about the graphics, not about the game themselves. Most are looking fine to me :)

Castlevainia, Worms HD, Alien Homnid HD, Catan & Eets Chowdown....

WOW thats some amazing line up on its way and all instant purchases to me.

So excited about a true board game making its way to XBLA, I hope its a true success.

Worms in high-def glory? Come to mama... or wait.. its acctually papa here..

And Alien Hominid looks like alot of fun! Never played SotN but it seems i made a mistake missing that game since people are going crazy about it.

Is Luxor somehow related to Zuma ?
Commented on 2007-01-30 12:33:07
Alien Hominid looks really cool. Before someone said it was the same guys making Castle Crashers, that thought had actually entered my head. They look kinda similar in art style. I really like the look of it. Cant wait for worms also. Eets looks pretty interesting as well.

Edit. Christ I just tried that flash game of Alien. Anyone else find it extremely hard ?

you know, I first found Zuma, but later found out it was almost a direct copy of Luxor.
Could be the other way around though.

I just don't have the knowledge to tell you for sure.
I'm not sure, but Zuma is a ripoff/clone of Puzzloop/Magnetica. Good game though. I think Luxor may not be PopCap (?) so it's probably a ripoff of Zuma. I may get Luxor, looks like a little bit more original take on the whole thing..

The console release is pretty hard too, I expect the same from the arcade version.

So..is Worms 2 players?
Commented on 2007-01-30 13:30:26
I tested all live arcade releases couple of days a go and they all were more or less utter garbage :D (oh well, texas hold em' was okayish but it was free) Wouldnt pay a penny for any of them. They even suck comapred to stuff people made when PC pd & shareware games were popular. Dont see too mutch potential on these upcoming LA releases. Worms was great fun (10 years a go..) so it's propably only one I bother to check out.

Thank you very much for the info and for the link to the flash game. You're right -really funny one. Will download/buy it also.

Luxor is an addictive game. It's like Zuma and Arkonoid without the bouncing ball.

Castlevania

Sweet~~~~~~~~~~!!

They all look great, this is what XBLA is meant to be.
I've never heard anything about Eets Chowdown or Band of Bugs, the screenshots don't really help explain what sort of games they are either. Either way I'm interested.

I can't wait to try them all, especially SoTN, Worms and Luxor.

  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @digi_matrix: Lol that is brilliant. I love when a dev puts detail like that in a game. How is Last Light by the way?Anyone playing it? Reviews a bit mixed... (1 Hour ago)
  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix I don't think you've played enough Metro, because there is humor in these games to offset. Uhlman in 2033 was pretty much comedic relief. Call of Duty takes itself more seriously than Metro. (3 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Tinks: not fitting at all, but i guess it's fun..yeah, no argument there. (3 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks it's pretty innocent fun (3 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog I could see them working in a game with themes that fit, say, army of two, or team fortress. But it doesn't really have a place in a game like metro... (4 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @digi_matrix: just seems jarring to me, especially in a game with oft depressing themes. It'd be like seeing the girl in the red dress do air guitar in shindlers list. (4 Hours ago)
