Page 1 2 >>awesome trailer, and very cool looking maps. kinda wish i put more time into killzone 2's MP tbh. i was so busy when it came out i just didnt have the time to play it. and now i fear i've left it to a point where everyone will be pro's and i wont have a chance (kinda like a noob trying to play warhawk)
this trailer is kick ass. the more i look at it, the more amped i get to play some killzone 2 multiplayer online. those maps look incredible.
killzone 2 is still TOP GRAPHICS DOG TODAY!!!
Hopefully it won't be $4.99. If it is, this better have more than two maps.
Still im not moaning it looks awesome, KZ2 for me has really kicked the FPS up a gear.
Errr if im not mistaken it's 2 maps, and the price you stated is still cheap in this BS DLC that developers throw at us.....

Still nice to see the Killzone fans getting some new maps. I might buy it just to see if I can get into the game again.

This is way off-topic but i know what you mean. I recently bought CoD 4: MW ( Have no idea why it took me so long..) and let me tell you, im gettin' my ass kicked so hard out there that it's not even funny! - my kill/death ratio is about 1 to 4 on a average cos' my mates think the only proper way to play the game is on Hardcore-mode...
Help!!! I downloaded the first pack it installs but when i try to launch the game with new maps it says: "you need to download the Steel and Titanium map pack". Have anyone got the same problem? This is why i doubt about downloading this content.
PS3 games aren't region locked but DLC is.

Korndog, you shouldn't be to worried about playing Killzone 2 multiplayer. I'm very bad at multiplayer shooters on console, but somehow even I manage to fit in with players that have gained more perks than me. So, you should be fine. You won't have the noob feeling ;o)
those volumetric dust clouds at 00:17 totally leave crysis behind(at least cryEngine 3 for consoles).
its amazing how much they can pour in with this engine's modification. partical effects, light scattering and character properties are just uncomparable.
The water effects are awesome.

That doesn't mean Killzone 2 doesn't look great. But comparisons with Crysis are doomed to fail.
^ Very true. Crysis does things on a huge scale that other games on a small scale can't do. I always wonder why Helgan is so damn windy though. I also wonder if the game would look half as good without said wind blowing stuff around and distracting the eye, lol...
No it doesn't leave Crysis behind. After 2 years there still isn't any game that matches the graphics of Crysis. Ofcourse after 2 years there still isn't a single GPU graphics card that can run Crysis at 60 fps.

Come on, we all know the fact that Crysis is using almost an infinite level of assets. had those RAM and GPU specifications available to Guerilla games, Crysis would have been history for Crysis is vastly an unoptimized game. the water is still total a shader thing without any true water physics.
The only game that has been released that uses water physics on a water particle level, is Cryostasis. The original Crysis (vanilla) is not fully optimised, but you can download mods and config tweaks (like realifesys), that not only make the game look better, but even make it run at higher framerates. I have Crysis tweaked with realifesys and some config tweaks, making it look incredible and in benchmarks I can achieve 55 fps average in 1680*1050 resolution.
Killzone looks great, no doubt about that, but it is still far away from Crysis. When the first game from Crytek will hit the consoles using CryEngine3, there will be a new benchmark for consoles.
yes that technology is named Ocean Wave Technology. but damn, its nowhere near 3D. I know they are calling it that but I've yet to see that. there is a lot of hidden stuff happening in crysis but with visuals effects that could be done on PS2. like if you shoot sludge drum, the black oil that comes out is exactly the same as the darkness out of a Colossus in Shadow of the Colossus.
and upon that, crysis uses sooo much more resources than Killzone 2 or GT5. with Crysis' resources it should've looked ultra-photoreal and this and that. but its nowhere near that.
lets just see TRUE 3D water effects...as are in Resistance 2:

I agree Crysis uses a lot of resources, but it shows incredible graphics. Remember this game is built on technology from 2007 for dual core processors. The PS3 has a cell CPU with 7 SPE's @ 3.2GHz. Crysis is as such dependant on the graphics card GPU. So the resources can't be compared. But it is impossible with the current PC-hardware (2009) to produce photoreal games. The best estimate hardware developpers have made about this possibility is 2012 or later. Unless you count in cinema 2.0 from ATI. So your statement that Crysis should look ultra-photoreal does not make sense.
