My buddy who played it said it is basically Horizon 3 with better graphics, full customization of the car parts, plus you get cool stories and missions. Basically he said it kills Rivals and is better than Horizon 3(which he is a fan of both those titles).
Since I am also a fan of Horizon and Rivals I think I am going to get it.
This game has the same (new era NFS's) shitty handling... so unnatural arcade... even imperfect Horizon 3 is miles ahead (im talking about the feel of the driving).
Hmm.. I just want a racing game, not a Fast&Furious movie. I sincerely miss way, way back in the day when NFS was based on physics and the spectacular crashes (for the time) were the highlight of the game. That's all I ever want from NFS, good physics engine, good balance between simulation and arcade but leaning towards simulation, good handling, and spectacular crashes. It really has changed into a completely different game.

Its been bad for along over a decade now. Even the original Underground games were just awful. People just have fond memories of it because they were young and the actual pimping out of the cars was the highlight. The actual gameplay and the handling in those games were horrendous though. It wasn't fun arcadey handling and it wasn't at all realistic either.
The only time the series shined was when Criterion made NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted last gen.
I agree with spacemanjupiter above too. Bizarrely the first game, The Need For Speed, had the best crashes ever. There was weight to them and the sounds of the crash and every bounce were great too.
And why does the Frostbite engine always have rain drops sitting on the car when there isn't cloud in the sky and in the middle of a desert lol?
