Dead Space 3 gets a screenshot

Electronic Arts seems to like lonely screenshot. After Most Wanted, it's Dead Space 3 turn to be shown with one screenshot.

Is this using Frostbite? The visuals are awesome.

Issac looking good. I hope the coop doesn't ruin the game though

They called it Dead Space 2, anyway. Knowing EA I'm sure this will be more of the same

I still have to finish 1 & play 2. But it looks like the rumors were true; 3 takes place on a cold planet?

You have to watch this:

And yes, it's related to DS3.

Oh, what is it using then? Definitely not the same engine as last time round, that's for sure.

As far as I know is the same engine, they were rumours about it using Frostbite but they denied it.

Looks very good though.

hopefully it'll play more like dead space 1

more metroid awesomeness... less uncharted bullshit.

If it's the same engine then they've done absolute wonders with it. Fair per-lay.

The fuck is going on with this game? Zombies using weapons like RE 5, cover-based gameplay like RE 5, and now co-op like RE 5?

Is this some EA influence on the game's design, or should I not be over-reacting just now?

It's using frostbite 2

Dead space 2 was a much better game then the first for me. Way more variety and way more interesting. If this follows suit i'm all for it.

I haven't played 2 yet but I don't find the lack of variation too off putting in 1, infact I think it adds to it.

What? It looks about as muddy as the last one did. Nothing blowing me away there, it's a bunch of low poly models and not great textures. I mean, for a console/third person game it looks good but it's not amazing.

I sure as hell hope so that its using Frostbite 2... man that 3d engine is a great move by DICE and EA... they are really going to make and dominate the UE3 engine multiplatforms and make Dead Space really awesome.

I just hope this doesn't get turned into a straight up action game

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Not "Here, you can have it all and become a god that can knock over a 30 tonne beast!" Had to be a balance there. There wasn't one. (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite having a perk slot system too. Only being able to equip a couple to suit what kind of style you want to play as. (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Little things that could have elevated the game from being just 'OK' to deserving the praise it got. (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite another solution for repetitive combat and progression is a weapon maintenance system, sparser ammo, and making each machine have a unique invulnerability to certain attacks. (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite A simple solution would have been a command wheel function for overridden machines. Attack, defend, stay, suicide attack, follow etc (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite the maps design didn't facilitate it. Like I say, poor design everywhere. (7 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @Tiz: I just think its sloppy AI coding, and just a general lack of want of doing it that way. One other reason is the on rails system for automatic riding (7 Hours ago)
