OMG you are right! A few sand bags with a few bad pixels. Bloody Sony lied again!
Do you wanna have ultra high texture on walls adn sandbags that the player just runs by or should you focus on effects, lightning and scale. I would take the last one any day of the week. The atmosphere is stunning, the sniper video is absolutly breathtaking.
Wha- what? What the hell?! What happened to the voice acting for god's sake!!! O_O
What happened to the intensity of the convoy landing scene first shown in the E3 07 reveal trailer?!
It's like a complete downgrade! I'm seriously shocked at how inferior it looks. The character's faces look like mannequins and have no animation whatsoever. Especially that guy with the bandana, his face was so real back in 07. Jesus, what the heck happened? :(
Excellent game? The only thing this game has to offer is Multiplayer. The Single player looks like crap. I am sorry, but it does. Oh, and for people who only care about effects, sure, its a great looking game, but I prefer a game that takes the middle road, making everything look about as good as everything else. I like the way the game looks with afew exceptions, but it obviously isn't technically impressive. The textures are flat, the models are ok at best, the effects are dececnt, but suffer from that Resistance 2 way too soft thing, and the colors are just annoying. grey, d=some green, and ORANGE. Thats it? Really? Ugh, I do not see why people are so obsessed over this game. Actually , no, I take that back. The same reason everone loves the new Star Wars series. All flash and no bang. And yet at the end of the day, its games like Half Life 2 which are actually impressive and pleasing technically and aesthetically that win the prize, not over hyped Killzone 2. I would love for this game to be good, but the gameplay doesn't look that great out side of multiplayer. And while I like the general look of the game, its not something that impresses me. It looks pretty neat, but it also gets old. Same old same old. And no, I'm not a fanboy. I have a PS3, not a 360, I love shooters, blah blah blah. Not impressed, and I don't think this game will really catch me, nor do I think it will be as much of a critical or commercial success it is supposedly going to be. Which is sad, because the PS3 could use a few games like this.
i dont think i will like killzone 2 for the same reason. to be in a industrial area all the time is depressing. and the grey pallette kills me .
its like having a colour tv and watching a black and white movie . i just wont do it. its not enjoyable.
and the gameplay looks soooo bland , not much to do . i think i will settle for the call of duty 4 and 5 and anticipate 6 .
end of rant and dissapointment.
They even toned down the blur on the guns (unless that is a--stupid--MP only decision/downgrade).
Hopefully this will make it easier.

But I would say how long it took to get here after so many promises, that it had better look this good
It's almost criminal at what was shown and promised. Lucky for them they realized this game was make or break
Texture work is also much better than when the game was first unveiled, especially the ground textures. They also improved the look of the character's faces, especially Rico. The early Rico head model was horrendous; still doesn't look quite there yet, but definitely a step up. Hit animation looks quite nice, but there is still a few problems with the ragdoll to canned animation transition (instamovement of an enemy to a railing for example) but it can be cleared up. But the gun animations are pure win.
Also, Blim, how would you rate the difficulty of the game?
It's more a question of where do you wanna spend the power of RSX.

Try to keep control people.
Take a step back, a deep breath, and then just think about the importance of the textures on some sandbags. Why nitpick?
The game looks phenomenal. Gameplay might be a bit clunky (or that could just be the player) but the lighting is absolutely insane. Bravo.
I can't believe people are actually talking about textures.

Back on topic, the gameplay is a little clunky from what I've read it. Guns have incredible recoil and there is no aim assist ala CoD 4. This adds to the clunkiness which makes the gameplay somewhat realistic. Hopefully, this playtesting will encourage Guerilla to loosen up and make the controls and gameplay a little bit more arcade like.
Butwhatever, the dialogue is decent enough for me to say "alright, its cool, but the game as a whole is amazing", so I am not bothered :)
But everytime I see the game in motion, it looks brilliant!
And in terms of shooting itself, its amazing how much they polished after the first one to get it RIGHT.
One thing I dont like about it is the melee, but its not a breaker so its all good.
i just hope they don't advertise K2 as though it's a dialogue heavy and emotive game, like epic did for gears with the mad world and last day trailers.
