Whoops. Someone misspoke. What you meant to say was, COD4 has amazingly beautiful texture work, just saved-out at a lower resolution up-close to save on performance.

This turd has, not only low-rez materials, but poor art style all around. Big difference from COD4. COD4 looks fantastic. This, not so much. But that was a nice attempt at shuffling PS3's graphical limitations onto Infinity Ward.
What a surprising response--stop trolling, or stop posting.

PS. COD4's textures look just as shit (and they are relatively fugly close up, and I'm a huge fan of the game) on either platform. It has that, "nice from far" thing going for it, but I wouldn't call those amazingly beautiful textures either. Well, unless you're playing the PC version, that is ;)

SOCOM was never big on graphics. It's always been the gameplay that drew the fans in. And Zipper is supposed to working on SOCOM 4 so this is just a title to hold fans over. I'm actually wondering how they'll go about this actually. Will both Con. and 4 offer different features/gameplay and their own DLC leaving it up to the gamer to choose what they want (if you don't like one, play the other) or will they bridge Con. with 4 upon 4's release?

Looks pretty ugly, and those character designs are laughable at best. Damn.

actually, no, what i meant to say was what i actually said surprisingly, cod 4 texture work is terrible up close. really shows the age of the engine, BUT, from afar, in general gameplay situations the game looks great. same thing here. i've seen it in motion and it looks great for a PSN title. up close, not so much. either you hide a boner for cod4 (great game BTW) or your just blind. which is it?

So true. I really could not believe that IW got away with that. Anyway, this game looks to be doing what it needs to do for a PSN game. Deliver a fairly solid title for a budget price. I guess wait until Socom 4 for some more graphical prowress.
