Snoopers and Bryan were also invited at a presentation of Prototype yesterday, where between 2 drinks they managed to film some very nice gameplay footage. Please note that the build shown here is six months old.
Update: Second part is up.
Update 2: Video interview of Tim Bennison, Executive Producer of the game, online.

Commented on 2008-02-22 20:02:26And hopefully there's enough to do in this game to keep it interesting. I know a lot of games like Spider-man, Hulk, Crackdown, etc. have these really cool gameplay elements but the developers can't keep the game fresh throughout which makes their novelties grow boring.
Definitely one to keep an eye out for though.

Commented on 2008-02-22 21:02:19What I'm afraid might make it into the final build though, is the excessive amount of blood. It seems to me like they're striving for a very realistic looking world, both the art direction and the physics would suggest that. It just didn't seem very fitting to see a fountain of blood gush out of that tank for example.
Other than that, it's looking very impressive. Glad to see the team kept their words from the dev diaries.

Commented on 2008-02-23 14:16:42The gameplay is pretty cool as well, some awesome stuff in there and the animations of the main character are excellent, sans some of the transitions.
The main problem I have with this game is that it feels more like a playground than a city. It doesn't feel like all this is happening in a living, breathing city, but in a closed off playground so to speak. Having so many vehicles and characters in there doesn't make a city feel alive, there's a lot more to it. GTA IV seems to catch that atmosphere very well, Prototype (so far) not so much...

Commented on 2008-02-23 19:18:20i felt so sorry for atleast 5 of them, they are so scared, and I will nto buy this game, it's just grotesque. I actually hope someone does do soemthgin about it, it's pretty much horrifying. Fine... tear enemies in half, but that woman was just walkign along, and everyone aroudn her, is goign to have to hire a consellour when he rips her head off in front of everyone.
Everyone has limits, and this for me, just crossed it. Atleast in GTA, you can try your best to avoid them. And believe me, I will. Euphoria makes them look so pained.
Am I a wuss, or is this getting too much... maybe it's the realism coming into games now?

Commented on 2008-02-24 02:33:32 In reply to lb003g0676The game needs a bit of polish. Moving through the city looks cool but not as tight as it should. For example, bounding off cars is awesome, but sometimes it looks like he's overshooting the cars but still causing damage to them. If it gets tweaked so that it actually looks like he's landing on them, then great!
I dig the backwards facing camera. Since you don't get run over by cars or anything, it just ends up looking awesome and not frustrating like it could. The three monsters definitely looked awesome as they fucked shit up. Crackdown NEEDED some kind of super-powered enemies. There was no excuse to just be fighting guys with guns when there could have been other dudes jumping around throwing cars. This at least looks more varied.
Unfortunately, I don't see it being THAT varied. Crackdown was fun thanks to the sweet-ass jumping, but I find pretty much all sandbox games boring as hell. I haven't enjoyed a single GTA game since there was a 5-minute long demo for the first one on PC, and its novelty and short play time kept it fun. My fingers are crossed that this'll be different!
