The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is home to 200 species of animals. Jump inside for some fresh screens and head over to the official site to leanr more about the game's wildlife. Update: more screens added.
Much better screens than the last batch. Just wish they were of something a bit more exciting. Never liked the hunting in RDR...or hunting in any game for that matter.

jihhha, finally a good ps4game and i can dust my Pro :)
Are you joking? What about HZD, God of War and SpiderMan? I mean, it's fine if you don't like them, but there's been a bunch of great games for the PS4.
I don't know if they are using some kind of upscaling/chekerboard rendering technique that indroduce a bunch of artifacts or it's simple lack of good antialiasing but fur, leaves, thin branches and grass don't look great and the textures in general seems to be kind of low resolution, it reminds me of AC: Origins, I imagine that's the price for having a huge world map with lots of unique textures and try to fit it on a BD (AC:O on PC was over 50GB already).
Some of these screenshots definitely have some sort of upscaling going on, weird they released them in 4k. The dithering effect on the hair is from their aa solution but it looks worse here probably because of the upscaling

Im curious, are you gonna buy this game? Because it doesn't sound like you enjoyed the last game at all nor you seem happy with anything rdr2 is doing. There are a lot of new stuff, improvements in this game and it feels like they are building on what people liked about rdr1 but i don't know if that means you are gonna like it. I guess you could still try it though. Its definitely gonna be a big event when it comes out

I like to try all the games I can. Especially when I've started a series. Sequels can be substantially better games then their previous counterparts (watchdogs for instance, although that was slightly ruined by a dumb hipster douch vibe), so I'm willing to give RDR2 the benefit of the doubt...I'll just be doing it at a reduced cost. Because as you say, I do find a lot of what they're showing off to be on the menial, tedious side of gaming.
Maybe once they start showing off the meat of the story missions it will sound more appealing. If it's just the same basic tasks you were assigned to do in RDR (herding cattle.anyone?) Sprinkled between taking baths, brushing your horse and cleaning your pistols, Then I may likely pass.

yeah, after looking at the images full screen (i was on my phone before) they have the same issues as the last batch, really soft IQ, dithered transparencies for hair (the horse hair looks absolutely awful) and poorly implemented DOF (foreground grass being in focus when it shouldn't be)
everything just looks a bit blurry. could be up-scaling or checker-boarding? (although god of war and horizon don't look anywhere near as soft and still images usually don't show signs of it anyway due to the nature of the process), could be the engine being pushed too far for current machines? could be the AA method? it's not exactly doing the game any favours whatever it is. hopefully it's cleaner come release.
Right now Im getting really tired of open world games that feel like checklists even good ones like Spider-Man. It's not just open world though, more linear games like tomb raider and god of war also have way too many collectables. I think that's why i enjoyed Detroit and shadow of the colossus so much more this year, it didn't feel like 70% of the game was collecting things. I wish i could ignore collectables but i feel like im missing out if i dont get them
They ve been releasing a lot of new stuff these past 2 weeks, from previews and on their website. I hope we get the next gameplay trailer this week,i want to see some of the preview stuff in action. The game is out in a month, so close

No1 else tired of open world games? -.-
Ubi'fied ones, yeah.
No one creates an open world like Rockstar does. GTAV still has the most convincing city environment in a game.
Hopefully they make the hunting challenging to the extent that it's proper difficult to actually catch anything without the appropriate means. The AI has to be good for that. You could come across a load of deer in the woods and just open up on them on the spot, wiping them out in an instant. No challenge or fun in that. Everything has to be either elusive as fuck, or rare to come across. More challenge, more reward. And it's about time someone put fishing in an open world game. Was disappointed Breath of the Wild didn't have that. Chucking bombs or firing arrows at fish is a bit bollocks.
