Our videos of Wreckfest

The PC release of Wreckfest is still planned for 2017, but obviously the version we played yesterday is still work in progress, with many things that are not final yet. We were surprised to see that cars now turn more easily, which makes the handling much easier and more arcadey, something that might not be to everyone's liking. The feedback we get from the track is also a bit disappointing, with too few vibrations in the controller to really feel the car and understand what's going on. That said, the version we played yesterday is not final, so let's hope the game will turn out well when the game is finally ready to leave Early Access this Winter.

Love the gameplay, but not sure I would pay full price for it. There just doesn't seem to be enough content. I would also love to see some higher speed races, as most of these are pretty plodding.

That being said, I absolutely love the vehicle physics in the game. It has the old heavy, musclecar floaty handling of the original driver games, and the best damage modeling of any game out there. If only every racing game put this much emphasis on physics rather than shiny graphics...

Always loved the Flatout games. This looks pretty good, but I wish they spent more time on the sound effects - I don't hear a lot of interaction between the car and the road surfaces.

About the game

What's up?

GriftGFX The best conquest modes are assault/double assault. They need to bring them back... but not for Bad Company. (1 Hour ago)

GriftGFX But they're also introducing new field upgrades too which just seem to further break predictable encounters. Lots of give and take. (1 Hour ago)

GriftGFX @MikeManiac61: Battlefield 1 conquest sucks. They've improved it (or are?) by introducing a neutral bleed state (tied flags = no ticket gain). That's a partial fix. (1 Hour ago)

GriftGFX @MikeManiac61: Nah conquest is okay in Bad Company 2. I just don't like the movement, combat, or vehicle handling. It's all piss poor compared to BF3/4. (1 Hour ago)

MikeManiac61 Unlike in past BF games if were down by that many, by some miracle we could eventually make a comeback. (2 Hours ago)

MikeManiac61 @GriftGFX: After playing BF1 for awhile i feel the same. Still not use to the ticket bleed in this game. If you're down by 300 tickets in BF1, you've already lost. (2 Hours ago)

MikeManiac61 @GriftGFX: PC wise i can understand BC2 wasn't popular there. Controls, especially on a mouse felt super sluggish and CQ was too small with massive chokepoints. I'd prob place BC1 ahead of BC2. (2 Hours ago)
