Our videos of Test Drive Ferrari

After two episodes of Test Drive Unlimited, the franchise is literally back on track with Test Drive : Ferrari Racing Legends, an episode developed by Slightly Mad Studios, famous for the Shift series, and of course, their current ongoing project, Project CARS. No more open roads to cruise on, this new opus is only about racing on 39 tracks (in 16 different locations). The driving sensations are very similar to those of Shift 1 and 2, so they're pretty good overall despite the cars' tendency to drift, but the main problem is that the game is incredibly difficult. Very early on, you'll find yourself stuck, not being able to reach the finish line in time, even in easy mode. As you can't move on to the next challenge without completing the one before, it makes progressing into the game very frustrating, unless you stick to the first part of the career (1947-1973).

Sounds more annoying than fun! Does the handling improve on Shift 2? Ie the same jump up from Shift 1 to 2?

edit: Graphics are superb what version you playing?

I haven't played Shift in a while, so it's hard to say for sure. Like I said, it feels close, so I guess those who did not like it then will not be convinced with this game. I think braking may be a bit more forgiving. Not that you can really brake very late all the time, but you can hit the brakes pretty hard without risking anything.

Edit: 360 version. The PC version has been delayed.

Nice one, No other sim gives the thrill of racing like Shift just a shame the handling was not more like GT5/Forza the game and this game would be epic.

I still think there is more rage in all the racing in Shift if you catch my meaning. It's all calmer here I felt. :)

this stops me from being interested in the game.

Their games have always been really hard. You'd think they would have caught that in QA.

The in-car view is ok, but the replays are just wrong. shame.

Damit why can't Forza get their replay angles right. Oh and the driver too. I guess GT, Forza and Slightly Mad just need to make a baby together.

Indeed, Sony or MS should seriously consider buying these guys to inject some life into GT5/Forza.

Really? I looked about in a few shops for it yesterday and no one had it. Thought it must be out in the next few weeks.

Edit: not a single place on the internet in the UK seems to be stocking it.

So it seems this has no date for a UK release.
