Total War fans will finally be able to go back to Rome as Total War: Rome II has been announced by SEGA and The Creative Assembly. The game is set to release next year on PC, first screens and arts inside. Update: Added first trailer.
Total War: ROME II™ announced
Today, we’re delighted to announce one of the most hotly-anticipated titles in our history - Total War: Rome II™ - sequel to the multi-million selling, 92% Metacritic-rated classic Rome: Total War, encompassing one of the best-known periods in world history.
Total War: Rome II™ will sink players into the dangerous political machinations of Rome’s senate, while asking them to struggle with family dilemmas and question the loyalty of ‘friends’ and allies. Leading the greatest army ever seen into battle will be just one challenge you will face at the head of the world’s first superpower.
Will you help forge an empire? Restore the Republic? Or grasp the reins of power for yourself, and assume the hated title of tyrant? Who will you conquer? Who will you betray? Who will you sacrifice?
“How far will you go for Rome?”
“Our games have always encompassed a grand vision”, said Mike Simpson, Creative Director. “But we’re now pushing that vision at both ends of the spectrum. From the immense reach of the sandbox campaign right down to the human-level drama of a single warrior on the battlefield, we’re aiming for an unprecedented level of detail and scale”.
“In our 25th year of games development, it feels fitting to return to our most critically acclaimed era”, continued Rob Bartholomew, Brand Director. “There’s been a multi-generational leap in technology since the original game and we are ready to set another benchmark in gaming.”
Total War: Rome II™ is due for release in 2013. For more information visit the new-look site at www.totalwar.com
Jeez, this has got to be the WORST reveal ever.... Angry Joe goes bezerk: [url] (0 minute ago)
@bleachedsmiles: Did MS say that beforehand? Because it seemed like everyone was expecting games prior to the event...which wouldn't make sense had they said games wouldn't be the focus (7 minutes ago)
@Ronsauce: yeah but his point was that MS said beforehand that games wouldnt be the focus..so expecting games to be the focus and labelling it a fail when it wasnt is what he's bitching about (13 minutes ago)
@Ronsauce: [url] could be right (24 minutes ago)
@KORNdog: I bet it will. Along with a robotic fist that punches you in the groin if you use a controller instead of Kinect to navigate the menus. (32 minutes ago)
Unless im issing something with regards to what gets stored where...installs, data.. HDD, Cloud?? (33 minutes ago)
@KORNdog: Very much doubt it tbh. Im just a bit concerned over HDD space more than anything. Why only 500GB. Cant help thinking a 1TB would have been default?? (34 minutes ago)
