While Max Payne 1 and 2 were great shooters, I kept on playing for the story and the characters. Vinnie Gognitti, Vlad "dearest of friends", Mona, etc. From all the media they've released of MP 3, I haven't seen any indication that's going to be the strong point. But I guess, one of those things you can't tell from trailers.
I really do hope this game retains its iconic dark film noir theme as that was one of the things that made the previous two Max Payne games awesome.
I will watch this trailer before purchasing and playing it (in the year 2013)!
I will buy it when the price drops to $10 on Steam.

I've have been a huge fan of Max Payne since the first game, and I had serious doubts when the first screenshots were shown, and that it would run on the Rage Engine, and wasn't developed by Remedy. But that is all gone now.

Max Payne 2's monologues were excellent:
"With no way to deal with the past, I kept my eyes on the road, off the rear-view mirror and the road-kill behind me."
"I had a bomb ticking in my head. No amount of painkillers would disable it."
We still haven't heard anything remotely as good as this in the trailers for Max Payne 3. We've seen little more than useless on-screen text that emphasizes unremarkable phrases.
Just dont make it priority over Crysis 3, or you will be "doomed" :P
oh yea bro!! Crysis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Max payne
The prior few trailers didn't do a whole lot for me. This trailer is really excellent though.
Pretty pumped for the game.

I just...I don't know, I'm finding it hard to get excited for this game.

from all the screenshots and videos we have seen from the game, we haven't seen actual gameplay from a feed of sorts. big part of what made the max payne games feel like a max payne game was the narrative and soundtrack, both of which we only heard bits and pieces of. I have no doubt that the game itself will feel like a max payne game, I am really excited
There are gameplay vids from 360 vers on youtube, nothing exciting to be honest. Game got that movielike feeling but gameplay looks rather boring and whats most important its missing atmosphere. Diehard alike.
EDIT. Cant find any atm, censorship ftw.

I mean, if you are not that into shooting alot then you defiantly will find it boring, as it's basically just shooting in slo mo.
I completely disagree. It looks fantastic from what I've seen. It's got buckets of atmosphere and style.

I kinda disagree xD. When it comes to story, characters, ost etc game is really good but the moment You get into actual gameplay its missing something. Guns dont feel good enough for me, shooting reminds me of RdR so I dont find it appealing. I finished sniper elite 2 few days ago and mp3 doesnt come even close to Sniper's bullet cams. Ohh and I love killing people in slomo but MP3 is decent at best. We'll see when the game comes out ;))
Are you being facetious? Because that rant was borderline comedy if you haven't even played the game yet.
Based on what I've seen so far, I'd have to say that the gameplay looks like an excellent continuation of the series' formula - and even improves upon it in many ways. However, I've also gotta say that I think the atmosphere and storytelling is severely lacking. Every cutscene/dialogue we've seen so far is nowhere near the standard of MP1/2. So, in that sense, I'm worried.
Actual gameplay vids from leaked x360 version, rockstar is removing them constantly but You can try find some.

my biggest pet peeve on this game, however, is the cut screens. nothing is wrong with them per se it is just the editing and effects are obviously borrowing from Tony Scotts style of editing. now lets be clear, i HATE Tony Scott and his piece of shit mediocre movies based soley on how he edits them, and to see this in the cutscreens for Max Payne 3 really gets under my skin. its as if the games cut screens are designed to give epileptics a miserable time, and to annoy anyone trying to pay attention with its wobbly camera, distorted/intentional screen tears and ripples, dialog that the characters JUST SAID repeated on screen just in case you didn't hear them or in case you wanted a cheap way to add drama, and basically all around keep you from taking this game seriously wen it looks like they hired a monkey to piss on their hard drive to add these obnoxious effects.
to be fair though, the max payne games never really had the best cutscenes to begin with but they did their job, and id say this is an improvement over 1 and 2, but fuck! tony scott needs to stop making shit movies and rockstar needs to never again get inspiration from tony scott in their future projects.
