SEGA have just announced that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released by the end of 2012 on almost every possible platform, Xbox 360, PS3, PC (digital release), 3DS and PS Vita. Images and trailer inside.

I wonder why Sega didn't sue Nintendo the other way round, the Wiimote is clearly a ripoff of Sega's Marine Fishing Controller.

I think it's sarcasm, in reaction to the mostly negative reactions to Sony's Smash Bros. I think that has more to do with it looking pretty shitty though.
Also, cart racing is a pretty well established genre at this point.
