When I am online thread Let's do some gaming will disappear from the main forum. When I am logged off I can see it.

This happens with both IE8 and Firefox 3.

That was a nice one to find. There is an optimization when you are logged in (the sql queries are much more complicated when you are) that will only show threads that had a post in the last 6 months. That one didn't!
That thread is not sticky anymore, so it won't show on either "versions".

Nah, the 6 months optimization is only for the first page of the thread listing of a forum. Since this page is called 99% of the time it's a huge gain.

is this why 99% of the Games Forum page got chopped?
You should have said something the 3 other times I brought it up to the staff, thinking the Games forum was broken (not that I would have missed it or anything).

So, if a topic never falls off the front page, and the last post in that topic was over 6 months ago, how are we supposed to find it?
Or, for those that never saw it before it disappeared, what if they make a new post about the same subject in the same Forum? Then there are two topics about the same thing.

I don't know if I like this optimization, but if it's what you need to do, then so-be-it.

It probably wouldn't ever be an issue for the News and Main forums, which ironically would be the ones that get the most hits, but as for the other forums... well, they would suffer, and how much traffic do you really get in OT or Technical, and Bugs?
(Games Forum though, you can go ahead and delete that whole thing :P)

the forums do this a LOT...you can fix it wish a refresh most of the time. but my god is it annoying.

I've been getting that more and more as well.

I thought an upgrade to IE8 might solve the problem (haven't upgraded yet though), but since you're having the same issue's...I guess not. Kinda annoying indeed.

Wierd, I just tried it in IE8 and it did that overlapping thing for a second, then it immediately pulled itself together, as if it was having trouble loading completely.

Never did that during the beta.
I wonder if it has something to do with the compatibility mode in IE8...

ok, a problem i've had possibly since this new site launched. (but i've only just noticed it)

when i post a comment on a video on the front page it takes AGES to update. it updates immediately in the forum, but the comments section below a video wont show my own comment...sometimes untill someone else comments.

IE 7.0.6001.18000 is the exact version....

Sorry for double post, I couldn't see the edit button and just now realised I also have Firefox (Which seems to be fine).
