Has anyone heard of any upcoming console bundles? I'm looking into buying a PS3 bundled with *something*. Is it too early? Are there rumors I'm not aware of? It wouldn't hurt to have a bundle with Uncharted 2 :P

I don't have a PS3 yet, but I'm considering the Gamestop bundle... and maybe findng Killzone2 used somewhere.

Hmn....black friday eh? I'll look into that, I've never been much of a black friday fan, mainly because of the fact that if you want something, you really have to make the effort to get it before it runs out. In other words, pretty much sleep outside the store.

EDIT: But yeah, definitely the Gamestop bundle is enticing. I think I may try to go for it. I wonder if it's even worth it, I sure can't compete with people getting there at 3AM.

By the way, has anyone ever been to a Gamestop black friday sale? And if so, how was it? Lots of people right at time of opening?

After seeing all the lines this morning at Old Navy, for Lego RockBand, and the 400+ people line at my Best Buy, in freezing temps, I didn't want to chance gamestop having enough bundles of the PS3 LBP and GOW1/2... I saw that Amazon, was offering a Bundle, that just started today... PS3 plus Infamous and Killzone2... I had planned on gettin KZ2 anyways, very shortly after getting a PS3... I haven't followed Infamous, but I hear it is decent. Didn't think GOW would be my thing personally, so I'll look for a used copy of LBP now...

So instead of paying tax and waiting in a line freezing and perhaps not getting a bundle do to a line and selling out... I have one coming to me with free shipping and no tax from Amazon.com for the same price.

So you got it? I was a bit too late for that one it seems. That one was great one though.True, but they still "sell out". BestBuy still seems to have that one with Ratchet and Clank + LBP, with I may end up buying if they still have it tomorrow (28th). They don't have shipping available, you have to pick it up at a store, and not all have them. And then the games that come in the bundle are not my thing at all--although they are still a $90 savings.

Fuck it, I just bought it--I guess I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'll see if I can trade one of these two games with a friend for Killzone maybe :D

With christmas coming up, I am keep seeing various bundles on PS3 in electronic stores with like 2 games included, or 4 bluray movies...etc. various bundles, but its not a special event like "black fridays", just normal christmas offers obviously.
I got Twilight on Bluray (sigh, will watch it though to see what all the fuzz is about) for free, didnt need games obviously, the only bundle they had at the store I was in was Fifa.

Have you decided if you want a Ps3 Slim or not?
One thing I noticed with the PS3 Slim I bought last week (after my 60GB crashed 2 days before I bought a PS3 Slim) is that the DS3 controller that comes with it is much better than the regular one.

The quality is not shiny to get grease and fingerprints all over it and the analogs are more flat than bumped up such as the old one (after a while it will get annoying), and the best thing is, the analogs has resistance when you puch it on the sides which makes it like the 360 analogs which is a big plus.

I wonder if they sell the PS3 Slim controllers seperetly, incase I decided to buy a new one, would be great.
But the old DS3 works perfectly though, so I gave it to my sister when she keeps playing Warhawk.

Try and go for the Slim if you have the chance, its smaller, much better coontroller, takes less space and less power and you wont get fingerprints all over the damn thing, and 120GB HDD is great.

@Sath, yeah I got the PS3 slim for $300 with LBP GOTY edition and Ratchet and Clank. As far as Gamestop reports, they are $60 and $50 respectively, so I guess it's not too bad. I also decided to get MGS4, because I wanted to watch a good action movie.Yeah, and I noticed the link on BestBuy is dead now.

I placed my order for store pickup yesterday, today I got an e-mail confirming it, and telling me I should go pick it up. They better have it when I pick it up in a few hours.

Is it? I think after the first MGS game on PS1, they've all been good games and that's all. MGS3 had some especially frustrating and antiquated gameplay elements for example. Aside from MGS2, they've all had awesome stories though. We'll see though, I bought after all. I can't wait to try it though.

I'm doing an update right now to sign up for the PSN. I didn't know they took that long on the PS3, it's like it's completely rebuilding the OS.

Also, do install games to HDD or to not install? I'd guess install considering it's 120GB instead of the crappy 20GB I have on my 360. What do you guys do?

I'd probably install them if there was some advantage to do so.
Then uninstall after beating the game unless there's some significant MP component.

Hmn, I don't know if it's even possible. I just inserted MGS4 and it started by itself and started installing. But I'm pretty sure that's not a full install.

yeah, I don't have experience with the PS3.

Other than LBP, of those 3 games none of them are probably worth installing. I tend to only install games with major MP components like Plumb pointed out

The install method on PS3 is totally diffrent though, you either HAVE TO or dont, its not a option like on xbox.
