LOL yea, he has on a Goku Suit. Clearly something they tossed in, but then Kishimoto is a huge DBZ and Toriyama fan, so it wouldn't surprise me if this is something that Kishi himself approves of completely. CC2 is pretty close with Kishimoto, too, so maybe that has something to do with it also.

It's no coincidence that one of the tailed beasts, which happened to be a gigantic monkey, is named Son Goku :)

I even recall Kishimoto saying the rasengan exists largely due to the Kamehameha in DBZ.

All anime? even those that dont have super exagerated powers or powers at all? doubt it.

I for one will get this since i love seeing exagerated cool anime fights, especially from cool characters like Naruto's dad, Kakashi...etc.
Also this game has a "average" looking hack and slash mode so hopefully thats fun.

Honestly the only ones i seen is Karas, Seirei no Moribito, Berserk (modern one), some Claymore and my favorite...Sword of the Stranger.

I'm a huge Fairy Tail fan right now. That is so awesome. If only the Naruto anime's animation was so incredible.

Well, there's still moments of great skill on display. It just tends to go largely unnoticed a lot of the time, particularly when Kishimoto isn't spelling it out for people. Look at the amazing way, for example, that Kakashi and Naruto collaborated to successfully land an attack on Tobi. Or when Kakashi fought Deva Path Pain and he dodged Pain's kick, but then immediately followed up with a defensive technique (earth wall) as a setup for his offensive attack (Raikiri). He put up that wall behind Pain, knowing that with him being so close to Pain and unleashing a Raikiri, that Pain would have very little time or chance to to avoid it. An opponent sees Raikiri coming, the immediate instinct is to back away, but instead you immediately run into a rock solid wall, greatly increasing the likelihood that you will be hit by the attack. Now, obviously, Pain was simply too much of a beast for that to work, but you saw the strategic brilliance in that move by Kakashi.

There are examples of this kind of thing scattered all throughout the manga even now, but they simply get far less attention. However, if readers look for it, they will see it. Another problem, too, is that readers have almost become conditioned to not appreciate the kind of skill that is evident in some of the things that these shinobi are pulling off. Naruto handing out such tremendous chakra to so many allies, while simultaneously converting it to match the chakra type of the person he's giving it to? Naruto so skillfully surrounding all his allies with his kyuubi cloak, even shaping it into the form of a bird, and doing all this without so much as having to look back to make sure he doesn't miss anyone? Or how about Hinata, without Naruto having to communicate it to her, instantly catching on to the fact that there was something wrong with Naruto's shoulder and proceeded to fix it in that very instant using her gentle fist fighting style. That's some skill out the ass right there, but perhaps some feel it's happening too fast for people to appreciate it all? I don't know.

The skill based stuff never left, it's just being put on display in different ways. Even Madara possessing the ability to stabilize the chakra of his Susanoo in the fashion that he did is evident of tremendous skill. Although, there are also times when Kishi goes out of his way to showcase that a ninja has the entirely wrong idea, such as when Kabuto thought he was the man because he had all those powers and abilities at his disposal, but Itachi, with help from Sasuke, rendered all of that pretty pointless.

That said, the Naruto animation is just bad beyond words. I think if we all came together on this forum, we might be able to do a slightly better job. That's how bad it is. If you aren't already into fairy tail, check it out. Amazing animation and the characters and story are pretty damn good, too.

Oh, yea, the main theme from Fairy Tail is pretty damn amazing, as are a number of others. But, man, when that dragon slayer theme comes on at an important part in a major fight, you just know things are about to get pretty crazy. Fire Dragon Slayer Salamander aka Natsu Dragneel FTW!!

You hear the best part of this one starting at around 1:04. Everything before that is just the build up. I think the first time they play it is when Kakashi showcases his mangekyou sharingan for the first time and sakura and chiyo are fighting sasori.

I always skip the intros of animes if i decide to watch one since they use pop music of some sort so i just skip it to the actual thing.

When I was talking "skill based" I was talking about the VIDEO GAME lol :p

As for the manga it's pretty good. I kinda wish the story had paid more attention to the entire cast of characters and not so much successive battles. In the beginning they did a good job of introducing a lot of people, and then it just went Naruto centric.
People are dying now that I really don't care about anymore. To me that's where it fails.
I like where it's headed though, and I look forward to the end after so long.'
