I'm no expert on a subject, but I'm kinda 100% sure that women are allowed in special forces in support roles only. As in radio operators and such, with no presence in the field.
Yes you are not an expert on the subject, so stop saying stuff as you were. There are females special forces on the field. I link you to one on this thread.

That's like one. 99.9% of operatives are men. For a very good reason. People want the best of the best to protect them.

So now you go from no woman on the field to only 0.01% with no knowledge at all if this is true or not. Nice keep getting stats out of your ass.

Let me give you facts instead of talking shit as you do.

There is around 13 to 15% of law enforcers deploy on the field that are women in the US. This number is probably bigger in other countries.

A fact is there are female swat operators out there, so there is no reason for Ubisoft to not include females characters on R6 just to pander to your "ManCrush"

A couple of studies from independent sources that support this argument would be nice.

Independent source?

How about from the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

https://www.bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=2274

That study is from 2008. Those numbers have definitely increase since those times. On 2008 19% of the FBI officers were women.

Who cares about their rank? I'm talking about women who do this shit.

I do know about a couple here and there, but Ubi's just pushing new female operators relentlessly. And they're all pretty face girlies. Why? Not only is it annoying, having to account for different hitboxes between men and women models but it's also plain stupid. Like why does her hair appears in front of her face?

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:AN...

This is what I find annoying about it.

I'm actually enjoying reading all this. I'm not being sarcastic, either.

So far: Someone expresses their hatred for the bullshit utopia ubisoft is trying to create and pander to who knows what type of gamers. And the other side is arguing that it is needed, though not explaining why it's needed or justified other than that "the community" wants it. And in between, is all the resort to name calling with a side of kiss ass.

This is why I love this place. Though, I do wish there were more people who didn't think the same as the majority. Would provide better arguments.

Explain to me why the operators in Siege are pandering?
If it's only because they include a female op with every new update then you've got to do way better than that.
If you think it's because of some completely unrelated Assassins Creed game then you've gotta do better than that too.

I feel dumber for continuing to engage in such a stupid topic honestly. Women serve in military, armed forces and special forces.
*This is actually pretty cool - Norway has a special forces made up entirely of women
https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/norway/201...

Siege is a great game, that admittedly I don't play anymore but put tons of time into.
I could understand if you feel slighted by female ops if they somehow compromised the integrity of the game but they don't.
You still sound like some man child who's targeting some of the best games right now because they don't just fill the cast with all males.
It took me two seconds to pull up that all women Norway special forces, and it'd take the same amount of time to find others if you were willing.

"For special operations, the number of female members is still zero: the country’s Special Forces is open to women, but few had applied and none had passed the admissions test. The lack of women has limited the Special Forces’ effectiveness in international operations. “In Afghanistan, one of our big challenges was that we would enter houses and not be able to speak to the women,” explained Captain Ole Vidar Krogsaeter, an officer with Norway’s Special Forces Operations. “In urban warfare, you have to be able to interact with women as well. Adding female soldiers was an operational need.”

Well now. Looks like it's a bit one-sided, as far as the reasoning of why they need women goes. Which is not surprising. I don't think I want to convince you in the validity of my point of view, with any luck your life experience will do that for me.

But I honestly don't understand why are you people so obsessed with the idea that women can do everything men can. Because it's not the case. Sexual dimorphism is a thing, evolution is a thing, social concepts that are born out of embarrassment of riches in one given place are a thing.

Think what you will, I guess. I'm sorry for being an average person, who doesn't fit into this new hip progressive movement with his traditional values where women are women and men are men, and silly arcade games are wacky fun and realistic games mimic reality the best way they can.

Nobody here has say that man and woman are the same and can do the same. We are just saying that there are women on special forces, so there is no reason why Ubisoft can't add female operators.

You are the one who is making this a feminism issue with your "SJW pandering" and stupid remarks.

I hope they put a transgender operator in the game next just to trigger ManCrush. This is the shit that gets you worked up.. and you call other people "social justice warriors"? Hilarious. You're a fucking snowflake.

Btw, you didn't provide any evidence of female SWAT, SAS, et al, operators. Just some officers by rank doing some ambiguous something.

You haven't provided any evidence either for any of your statements. But in your posts you demand others to do so. Are we just supposed to believe your ramblings?

And nowhere have I seen the Siege dev saying the wan't to emulate reality 100%. I have no idea where you got that idea from. Why scrutinize Siege or AC like that. I don't see a problem with games appealing to both genders by including male and female characters.

Favelas takes getting used to since so many walls are able to be blown out. It's not bad, but definitely hard to defend if your team isn't up for it

Aren't enough? The pace of map content is pretty good considering it's "free". It's hard to have it both ways. We're never going to see 12+ maps in a year like we do with a Battlefield release if we're not paying for it up front. 16 maps is pretty good.. and there will be what.. 19 by the end of year 2?

They're ahead of Overwatch in churning out maps anyway. File this under: you get what you pay for.

And I just don't think Brazil is a great map. It's also poorly optimized.

Yeah I think OW has the same issue.
They seem more content to focus on events, skins, and comp over new maps.

They're both minor gripes in otherwise great games.

The way I see it, and I don't want to include myself in the argument as everyone is entitled to their opinion on it. And this is mine. But, what ubisoft is doing by adding female characters is simply an insincere gesture to appeal to the female vote. They don't give a shit about whether or not women are serving and what they have to go through, they just want to be known as a company that isn't afraid to add female characters and possibly to avoid any guff they might receive. Guff vs money. They do this shit in the media all the time. Commercials, movies, advertisements, etc.

My favorite (not the Ghostbusters remake) was made fun of in South Park, and is a good example of this. There was a Geico or State Farm or some insurance company that had a commercial where they went out of their way to show that the robber was white and the victim was black. Their reasoning for doing such unrealistic portrayal was that "some robbers are white", yet their ad implied all robbers are white, or an over abundance of them where.

This relates with ubisoft simply because while there may be a few women in the service, they are not the majority, so it isn't accurate to real life, even if there is .1% to be represented in a game as if they are a majority is wrong. Whether or not the gamers see it this way is irrelevant to what ubisoft is stating by doing it: It is a "claiming majority" act which is inaccurate. You have to ask yourself why they're doing it. There are a lot of religious people serving as well, but I don't see a Muslim character in there. There are transgendered people serving, too. Where is their representation? No matter how you want to justify it. I'm more inclined to believe that ubisoft is doing it for the same reasons the commercials flip statistics and politically correct media have always done it: An insincere gesture for a vote and potential profit.

Of course they do it to make money. That is very obvious. I have not said anything against that. The female demographic is a large untapped market.

My point is that having females in Siege or in Overwatch does not impact the gameplay one bit. The game is still just as fun to play. The whole thing is a non issue imo.
