So you are comparing a competitive 3rd person melee combat game to friggin Dynasty Warriors? You clearly don't even understand what the game is about. Dynasty Warriors just lacks the fun factor, Family Feud on the SNES controls waaay better and is so much fun!

Ok. I just had more fun in DW and HW is all I'm saying. Devil in the details for me.

How are they comparable? They are trying to accomplish two totally different things. They are superficially similar at best.

I guess. But the games is very much meh, from what I experienced in open beta.
Not crazy enough as DW, nor complex enough as Warband.
Sort of wishy-washy middle ground.

Seems like there is a fair bit of depth to For Honor if you ask me. It might not be like VF or Tekken, but it still has a fair amount going for it, especially when it's 1v1. But it's more like a fighter than an action game, which is maybe where you are getting confused? It's all about reading the opponent, spacing and answering properly to each action taken by the opponent. Sure it's not perfect or anything, but to say that it lacks depth i think is very unfair, and thank god that it doesn't have the "crazy" aspect. That'd make it completely unplayable.

So no, i don't think the game is "meh" at all, in duels with an equally skilled opponent the game is intense as fuck.

It can be. If you want to play 1v1 with no bots and other players. It's just a better fighting game with more complexity and more weapons and shields and so on.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that one of two scenarios are true. 1, you simply don't know what a competitive fighter is or 2, you are just trolling.

I know that Mound and Blade had a competitive community with dedicated servers 7 years ago. Not sure if that qualifies in these dark ages of AAA games with P2P MP.

Not really feeling the similarity between SF4 and For Honour tbh. Warband is much closer to the core gameplay.

What? I didn't say it sucks. I just don't feel like paying 60$ and then some for a game I consider to be a somewhat simplified version of Warband. I'm sorry if this sits ill with you.

I'm also sorry for mentioning SF4, since it's the only fighting game I've played in a while. I thought it's not that much different from Tekken or VF. So, yeah. Sorry.

At any rate, i don't care if you like it or not as such, your comparisons are just not particularly good. There's a big difference in saying "I didn't like it" and "I didn't like it, Dynasty Warriors is better/more fun/whatever!" as that implies that they are trying to accomplish the same thing, or trying to scratch the same itch, when they obviously don't.

So all the mowing bots down and fighting a 'special enemy' who's suppose to be a challenge and controlling zones on the map has nothing to do with DW? Gotcha.
