I hope that "quite like Halo" thing is true :D

This person, reportedly a senior Demonware employee, described Destiny as boasting cooperative gameplay and numerous alien gun battles. He added that its sense of exploration was a strong point. Overall, though, he said that "there is a lot of work still to be done."

He also claimed he was shown a video that demonstrated a live game scene that featured numerous atmospheric items, including "huge amounts of trees and foliage," as well as particle effects, dynamic lighting, and a day-night cycle.

i'm really not expecting much, i still think they fluked the halo franchise, nothing else they made has ever been any good.

Also will it be pc only or next gen and pc? if it is this gen then... ewww.

Well, contract claims 360 and 720 first, and then PS3 in fall of 2014 if deemed technically feasible by Bungie, some content pack called Comet for the 360 and 720 shortly before that potential PS3 release, and then the sequel to Destiny in fall 2015 for both the 720 and the ps4.

Unless things have changed, this first game will be for the 360 and 720 only, with the PS3 maybe getting a much later release of the first title. That's what the contract we've seen suggests, anyway.

I haven't played any game of them except the Halo series, but I once saw a documentary about them, where they seemed to have made some revolutionary stuff, like the first 3d fps etc...

But well Bungie was always good at hyping themselves.

I don't expect much but I am eager to see what they came up with!

According to the documentation, Destiny will be a first-person shooter set in an "always-connected" universe that allows gamers to create a character and earn customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.

Well, we have no idea as to whether or not the situation has changed, but this is what we know officially, based on Bungie's contract with Activision. It's suppose to be a 360 and next gen xbox timed exclusive for later this year, with a possible ps3 release of the first game in late 2014, if Bungie deems it technically feasible. And there will be a content pack called comet for the next gen xbox and 360 sometime around spring 2014. Then Destiny 2 is released day and date on both the new xbox and the PS4 in 2015, and a comet follow-up content pack for both in spring 2016, and then Destiny 3 in 2017.

Those are the plans as we now know them. So, unless things have changed, this will be a next gen xbox timed exclusive, and a current gen 360 timed exclusive.

That video on IGN also reiterates the findings in the contract. Skip to 2:22 in the video. He says the first Destiny is meant for Xbox 360 and the next gen Xbox, which is referred to as Xbox 720 in the contract.

Says PS3 and 360.

Either they jumped the gun, and they were able to ensure a simultaneous 360 and PS3 release. If there is a next gen xbox version, I imagine they won't be able to reveal that before Microsoft has a chance to announce and talk about their new console.

-PS3 / 360 / "Future generation Technology"
-FPS
-At least 3 classes: Hunter (Sniper), Warlock (Magic - maybe pets as well), Titan (looks like an assault class)
-Always connected "mmoish" - no subscription fee
-City on Earth as a social hub
-Mars and Earth Moon as visitable Locations

"always connected". if i decide to get, PS3 version it is then.

I am very excited to see the game in motion and I hope Bungie takes these artstyles and executes them nicely into the game.
Artistically, looks leaps an bounds more appealing and unique than Halo Bungie did, tbh in any shooter I seen so far.

Huge rocks and metal-structures, no trees...environment looks very Halo-ish, which is not a bad thing at all...

Meh, another sci-fi bungie game. Console MMO crap, expect microtransactions up the ass, from guns to health packs.

The MMO part is annoying.

What if you are playing but all of a sudden randomly get disconnected from XBL/PSN or get broadband issue, then you get signed out of the game? meh.

They should have kept doing what they do best, great single player experience with online/offline co op and online multiplayer or LAN.
I will definitely keep checking more videos in the future of raw gameplay and features but at this point i dont see myself being into it much, but who knows.

Yeah. I like the idea of it, the visual impact of that floating orb above the planet. Kinda like first seeing the ring world in halo. But i'm not getting excited based on that footage. It didn't look too hot either, i mean, they're not really known for pushing visuals, but i did kind of expect better...the character models in particular, as sath said, look quite basic. I dunno, need to see more.

There's a huge difference between some bloody always connected DRM bullshit and a game that builds around the online component.

There's a huge difference between some bloody always connected DRM bullshit and a game that builds around the online component.

It wont be an issue if the game constantly save your progress in the background even if you disconnect randomly.

I am intrigued to see much more gameplay of it to say the least.

I don't really get why you need to be online for the single player? Surely it can store character progress locally and then upload said data to the "persistent world" when you do go online? What reason is there to be connected to the net to play the solo campaign? Why not do it like dark souls? Where playing offline is a lonely affair, but still possible. And when you're online you might pass some other players while your on your missions? Just seems pointless. And as far as i'm aware, the first 360 game where a gold membership is required or the game to even work?
