2012-06-08 15:43:03 Stunned so many are pretending as if Uncharted has some sort of ownership claim over highly cinematic and scripted events in a third person action adventure game. Not from this forum really, but just from reading a couple of other forums. --- |

Not from this forum really, but just from reading a couple of other forums. BTW I am not an Uncharted whore, I have all the three games and and I beat all three of them. I think it's a 7/10 series but there's a lot of room for improvement (which I am sure Naughty Dog will fix by the time they ship The Last of Us). |

The youtube video was funny, however, and I also got a huge laugh at Uncharted music being used in the tomb raider video :) |

2012-06-08 15:52:21 In reply to KORNdog (2012-06-08 15:50:34) Posted by KORNdog i dont think they think they own the approach to making games, just that it's pretty undeniable how much it has influenced a lot of games at E3. it's like, past tomb raiders barely had any characterisation, barely any set peices, platforming was more a methodical puzzle, combat was an afterthought due to the adventure focus. but based on the new trailers and footage, they've done everything uncharted has done. pacing is faster, platforming is simpler but more exciting, combat is coverbased and decent, more emphesis on set peices and cinematic quality, more characterisation...it took a while, but it's good to see more games care about that stuff now. becasue they certainly didnt before. |

2012-06-08 16:01:19 i loved the adventure of old tombraiders but as korn said, they was a fucking mess really.. they just need that exploration with the uncharted like controls and quality, i got a feeling though the later has taken more a role than the puzzle adventure :( --- |

2012-06-08 17:14:29 I don't mind them borrowing from uncharted, just hope there are some puzzles and exploration. The pinacle of tomb raider was always the sphynx level in the first game, such a massive room and you made your way around all of it, went away, came back like a massive central hub. As tomb raider has progressed it has become more and more linear, added vehicles and generally became lesser games. Giving Lara a bit of personality and improving the gunplay is LONG overdue. |

2012-06-08 17:30:08 There won't be any big puzzles, this is a survival/adventure horror game. |
