Not a game for me. Liked the controls and speed in the demo (whoa! a real fps on a console? wuddahudda?!) but, errrr, gory. Who would have thought a guitar was a battle axe in disguise!

The match making works pretty well on the PC version too. Not that we were matched up with anyone worth playing with--cry, ragequit, etc--but it was a pretty smooth experience otherwise.

I'm also pretty impressed with the source upgrades for L4D2. It's the best looking source game yet, and it also runs better than most of the others. With the exception of Half Life 2, it beats every other Valve game I have in terms of performance. It runs at a pretty consistent 180fps.. I wish TF2 did that!

Melee weapons are fucking annoying. They're absolutely fine in principal, if people would use them correctly. The problem is, people want to go around charging the fucking horde with their machete. Not only is this bad personal strategy, but it makes you a prime target for friendly fire. Then they have the nerve to complain about it, when they keep running in front of the group, straight through fire lines, in order to chop more zombies up. Get a fucking clue people, they're for when the horde rushes you, not the other way around.

Oh... and the deagle knockoff is sorta disappointing after a while. The rate of fire blows. I can deal with the short magazine, but when the regular 9mm takes down zombies so quickly... what's the point?

I was wondering why the intro video for L4D2 didn't line up with the beginning of the first campaign, as it did in the original game. I just noticed that the maps in the demo are named c5m1_waterfront and c5m2_park.. so it looks like they actually gave us a chunk of the games final location. Neat.

It really is quite fun. I arrived pretty late to the party to L4D (I actually just started playing it about a week ago), but I'll make sure to arrive earlier to this shindig.

I'm confused. Is this 4v4 deathmatch style? It's just so bizzare that they are releasing stuff this close to the sequel. I know they said they would support the original, but it's like giving certain people a reason not to buy the new game.

That. Was. Impossible. I was playing with a great group of people too. We were all playing 100%. But the end of the first level is the hardest I've ever played in L4D. 3 tanks, 25 special infected, infinite amount of horde zombies. It was clear that the AI Director hated us. Katana + Shotgun + Laser sight = Win. I managed to toss Boomer Bile on a Tank and watch it get mobbed by the regular zombies :D. Then I Katana'd it to death. Epic game.

Well, that error went away and the game is now fully installed. When I try to start it though, it crashes before I even get to the menu. Something about a "Invalid or corrupt background texture".

L4D2 hasn't made much of a splash among Xfire users. Disappointing that it's not even making it into their top ten. That's a pretty small sampling of PC gamers, granted, but it'd be nice to see their community more involved in games that aren't Call of Duty or Counter Strike (or WoW).
