As much as I and many people appreciate Gamersyde's content, we all know that it should always come after real life affairs. I hope one day you, Blim, Miguel, Game2k, and others pass the torch to a new generation and spend your time just enjoying life to the fullest - a.k.a. not dealing with a site and all the problems it entails. You guys surely deserve it already. Good luck!
PS. I did not mean me when I said "new generation", in case you're wondering. I'm not that nice/good to dedicate my free time in favor of others. Which is why I admire you guys so much. :)
Then there's their free time they sacrifice in order to give us all of this great content in excellent quality and for free. Drift himself has stated many times that he did a lot of things in his work during his lunchbreak - a time he should use to eat and rest.
Do you know that when they livestream, it's at night after work? Or that after the livestream, Blim has a 1 hour or 1 hour and a half drive back to his house?
Transparency, on this aspect, Gamersyde's staff is great. So there are many things that anyone paying attention to what they say knows. I honestly don't expect them to do this forever, do you?
I hope they don't, because they have already done far more than enough. Also, if I'm not misremembering, back when Gamersyde was Xboxsyde, Snoopy was in charge and he/she passed the torch to Blim and Drift.
Therefore, if Blim and Drift decide to not have to deal with the site anymore and just do their own stuff, by passing the torch to a new generation, what's the problem?
Similarly, Raphael Colantonio, co-founder of Arkane Studios, left the studio after 18 years to do other things than developing games. Same with Chris Metzen, which left Blizzard after 23 years. Then there's the BioWare co-founders, doctors Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, which left the company after 17 years to go brew beer and enjoy other aspects of life. There are a lot of examples like these.
Then there are those that leave the games industry for a few years to enjoy more things in life with their newfound free time and also to recharge their battery, then they come back years later. This happened with Cliff Bleszinski and Jade Raymond, to name a few.
Anyway, I don't like the way this all sounds, because it sounds like I'm saying things on the Gamersyde's staff's behalf, which I'm absolutely not doing. You just need to understand that Gamersyde is great because of everything they've done and still do. But like with everything in life, it also comes at a cost. And if they ever decide to stop in order to do other things, part of me will be sad, of course, but another part of me will also be happy for them.
