Such an awesome game. That Fujimi kaido track is so great. I've not even gone online yet. Seems to be a very low amount of people playing and I ain't very good so I'll wait until my friend gets the game.

Wish T10 would hire some of these guys, they have a far better eye for detail and colour balance than anyone who worked on the game. It shows that the game CAN produce realistic images with only a little extra effort...that and the use of the higher res models.
Still aint picked the game up yet, may relegate it to my "santa" pile, uncharted is eating my time atm, though its painful seein these images, and i have a friend who is raving about the game.

I don't think it's that simple to say "let's hire this dude". Shots, specially those with extra high contrast would simply look stupid during gameplay/replays, and unrealistic. You have 1 frame to work with too, you can tweak that all day and come up with the perfect look, doesn't mean much. And finally it's photomode, where models are vastly superior as so is AA.

Does anyone know good settings for the MS wheel? It feels fine as it is just now but I'm just curious. The feedback feels week compared to dirt.

Take one thing at a time though, the colour palette is criticised pretty much uniformly by people who love and hate the game (through whatever reasons), if they can nail the colours of things like the cars and the environment it brings them closer to the ideal look for the game. I dont know for sure the reason why they go for this super bright look to things all the time, but every time they show the game with much more muted tones it looks a million times better, regardless of the AA and higher res models (they just accentuate how great it can look).

I expect its more a choice they made themselves to give it this surreal look, it certainly isnt a tech limitation, thats why i was saying hire some guys who have an eye for more realistic visuals.

I take back all the bad thing I said about Sedona, it is such an awesome track to race on, its up there with the very best tracks i've ever played , its just brilliant!

lol, I don't know why you were expecting otherwise to be honest. It's not like PGR3--or ANY other racing game with such a feature allows it.

PGR3, PGR4, Forza 2, NFS, they all allowed silver members to upload photos. I know because I've never been a gold member and I've uploaded photos for all of those games. ;) These new changes are becoming ridiculous; $60 for a game and you can't even access the full photomode and storefront features.

I guess you should read the thread again. I was pretty hyped before the truth actually came out. Complaining about car models is pretty relevant considering people kept telling me the cars were fixed and remodeled. I would have liked to post my photos but the fact that they limited it to gold members is a pretty valid complaint too, considering pretty much every other game allows silver members to upload photomode pics.

And there are people who say nothing but positive things in this thread. Is that getting bring to you also? I don't see you complaining about them.

After playing the game for 2 days now, all I can say is WOW. This game really delivers and is probably the most fun I've ever had with a racing game. The new tracks are fantastic and the gameplay has never been better. I just can't get over how good of a job Turn 10 has done with this game. The car models look pretty weak sometimes, but other than that this game is just ace.

I can only imagine what they'll do for Forza 4.

Sorry then I stand corrected, I thought none of them allowed that. That sucks then.

Anyways, I got the game and got to play the first two series, pretty cool thus far :D

Not considering framerate, I think PGR4 looks better in some ways, mainly in the environments and overall lighting. :\ New York in Forza still pales in comparison to PGR4's version.

It hurts to see how good this game can look. If I'm being honest, a lot of the time I can't really see a big difference between the second game, especially on the returning tracks.

PGR4 cities are still the best looking cities in a racing game, but mostly because of textures (and poly count). On the other side PGR4 has other problems like the color palette/lighting of cars.
I think the NY track in FM3 isn't bad. The color palette is allright and you have lots of neon lights and video boards that makes it awesome to drive through the citiy.

The cars are definitly remodeled, not just in photomode. And the only difference you really notice with the highest LoD model is that you can see the full detailed interior. And this is also only for your car you are driving. Every other car model isn't replaced in photomode and you can't even see their full interiors.

The stuff people are making in this game is just scary, and with me actually racing a lot more in this than I did with Forza 2 I haven't completed particularly many designs myself.

I did kinda start a series of superhero/villain costume inspired designs though, kicking it off with this one:



And boy does the compression butcher the images. :|

Oh and also, the game is superb. Like.. superber than the superbness one might've imagined before it came out.
