...you almost can't find any new 1080p TV unless it's one of the very cheap models. On the other hand, most people don't have 4K HDR TVs or devices capable of showing HDR videos.
Well, where I live (Argentina) 90% of TVs are 1080p. 4K is still considered a luxury here.

Absolutely outstanding. I put these on an external HDD and ran it through the USB on my Samsung KS8000 (the EU version, HDR10 Premium). Looks phenomenal, the TV recognised it as HDR immediately, I have a similar video from another website without HDR and the difference is huge. Had to sign up to say I've been using the website here for a few months and you are without a shadow of a doubt the finest source for videos of games on the net right now.

Once again, it worked perfectly, colours look incredible. Thankyou so much, I look forward to more.

Here in Brazil, almost all modern TVs are 4K. The companies and stores are pushing very hard for 4K TVs. You can still find many 1080p TVs, but they're either from 2016 or earlier, or from this year, but really cheap models.

They're not very expensive here, around the same price point of 1080p TVs a few years ago. It only gets expensive if you go 40'' (inches) or above screen size. But still not very much. And we're in the middle of an economic crisis.

I was going to buy a 4K TV last year, but 5 things stopped me:

1) they're only really for gaming at the moment, and that requires a very high-end PC to play in 4K@60fps;

2) 1080p content doesn't look as good on 4K TVs as it does in 1080p TVs, they look almost close, but some detail is always lost;

3) then there's the whole HDR format wars, which until one wins, you run the risk of your 4K TV not being able to support that format;

4) 4K Blu-Ray movies are still very, very rare and new releases are around 10% in 4K Blu-Ray - if that;

5) Outside of some TV shows on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, which are available in 4K, most TV shows are in 1080p.

So when I took all that into account, it didn't feel worth it at the time. And to be honest, it still doesn't. It will probably be worth it in a couple years when new GPUs are more capable of 4K@60fps and more movies and TV shows get released in 4K.

I game as much as I watch movies and TV shows, so it needs to hit a balance for all 3 art mediums at the very least. This is the same with 21:9 screens, which I was also considering buying last year, games and movies look absolutely incredible, but everything else you will watch with 2 big ass black bars to the sides. It's just not worth for me, but I'm sure it is for other people, depending on what they use it for and how much certain things bother them.

I don't think we'll do it for games where the embargo is too close to the release date. But if we have preview builds or review where we can put up videos long before the release date, and of course it's a much awaited game, then yeah it would be worth the time and effort.
Until we have a simple and "fast enough" tool chain to encode these, they will for sure stay exceptional.
OK thanks for the heads up, can't wait for more even if it means a good while longer:). HDR truly is the next level.

12 years ago a lot of people didn't even have a tv capable of 720p and full hd TV's were not cheap, it's exactly the same today with 4k HDR not a lot of people have them but in a few years time it will be the standard.

Can you upload a H.264/x264 version in 1080p? HEVC is not hardware accelerated on my graphics card (only the newest generation graphics cards have that). It doesn't matter if it's not HDR.

I have a Samsung KU7000 I believe and it seems* it detected the video as HDR but I honestly can't say I'm impressed. I'm going to try to download the non-HDR versions of these videos and compare.

*typically when I play HDR content a very clear message comes up saying whatever is playing is HDR. But that's when using the HDMI port. Coming from a flash drive, the only way I could tell it was HDR is because there was some video information that shows the resolution, and there was a label with 'HDR'.

I just downloaded them. There is something wrong with your encoding settings. My computer can easily play H.264 4K 60fps 160+ Mbps videos from other sites without any frame drops but your videos are laggy as hell at anything above 50 Mbps and in 4K res.

OK, so yesterday I went to Best Buy with thumb drive in hand and popped it into a 2017 LG OLED.... that was the greatest thing I've ever seen on a TV before, truly amazing.

So I downloaded the old video from Nurburgring you guys uploaded to compare. I have to take some of it back. The difference from that to this is substantial, the detail just pops more, the storm seems more dramatic, etc. Very nice.

finally got my hands on a 49 inch lg 4k HDR tv (for the tiny sum of £399 including tax) and was finally able to watch this video in all its glory, all i need now is a console or a newer graphics card so i can play games in glorious 4k hdr, currently my GTX 980 can play games at 4k just not as well as say a GTX 1080.

If you absolutely want HDR, prefer a console. HDR support in PC games is almost inexistant for now.

Hi guys, I'm in major need of advice! I absolutely love your HDR videos, and it got me thinking that I want to do some of my own, and I'm on the verge of buying an Ninja Inferno, my question is, will Apple Prores and/or Avid Dnxhr encoded HDR clips work straight from a Shield TV? Or would I need to convert? I'd really appreciate the help.

Oh just a tip if you wanted to blow people's socks off with an HDR video.....Obduction on the PC, the games 2-3 minute intro at the start encompasses everything that's amazing about HDR. Wow.

They won't work on the Shield or any other player that I know of. You'll have to convert them to h265 (usually with x265), and it's quite a lengthy process.

Thanks, how unsurprising! Which program is good for converting? I'm using an OC'd 6700K, have you an rough idea how long it would take to convert with that kind of CPU, say 2 minute clip? Just trying to work out if it's even worth the effort, you have a pretty powerful Processor n all. Appreciate it.
