“We are very proud of the phenomenal launch of Dragon Age: Origins and we’re pleased to announce the next installment of Downloadable Content that will beElectronic Theatre Image available to fans of the game,” said Ray Muzyka, Group General Manager, RPG/MMO Group of EA, and Co-Founder, BioWare. “The Return to Ostagar DLC pack is a prime example of BioWare’s commitment to give fans a game that continuously offers new experiences and further enriches a storyline that has already received critical acclaim and positive feedback from the players.”

Return to Ostagar, BioWare’s next thread in the Dragon Age: Origins tapestry, summons players to a new quest in which they will return to the fateful battleground in Ostagar where the Grey Wardens were nearly wiped out. Players will discover King Cailan’s top-secret political agenda and go behind enemy lines to revisit a place that many feared had been lost to history.

Return to Ostagar will be available for £3.99 on the PlayStation Store, for 400 BioWare Points on the PC and 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360. Return to Ostagar will be released this winter worldwide on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Dragon Age: Origins is rated 18+ by PEGI, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details.

How do you know when you have finished an origin story and started the main game?

After you first meet King Cailan and Duncan leaves you to explore the camp. You'll get the achievement then while standing on the bridge.

ok so one of my spells as a Mage is the abillity to raise a skeleton from a dead foe to fight along side you, everytime i try to use this spell it does not work, i wait for a few enemies to fall before i use it and my character goes through the animation when the spell is used and then nothing, no undead fighting beside me?? anyone else had this?

You have to try it on either a Darkspawn, Human, Elf or Dwarf. And then when they've just died. To get the gist of it, let the AI control your character after you've put 'raise dead' in their config thingy. It doesn't have to the first in the list, it can be after offensive spells. It's always a type of skeleton, it just may be Melee or Ranged.

Just remember to turn it off when fighting 'creatures' as you can't raise them, but the AI will keep doing it over and over even when everyone is getting owned.

New Expansion in March around 15hrs long, man i hope ME.2 gets this much love.
From the Makers of the Best RPG of 2009, Dragon Age: Origins, comes the first official expansion pack. For centuries, the Grey Wardens—the ancient order of guardians, sworn to unite and defend the lands—have been battling the darkspawn forces. You are the Grey Warden Commander and have been entrusted with the duty of rebuilding the order of Grey Wardens and uncovering the secrets of the darkspawn and how they managed to remain. How you choose to rebuild your order, how you resolve the conflict with “The Architect”, and how you determine the fate of the darkspawn will be but some of the many complex choices that await and shape your journey as you venture to the new land of Amaranthine.

* A Stunning World Expanded: BioWare’s deepest universe to date just got bigger with an all new area of the world to explore, Amaranthine
o Unlock the secrets of the Darkspawn and their true motivations
o Rebuild the Grey Warden order and establish their base of operations at Vigil’s Keep

The price suck though. Expansion packs should cost 30$ at max.

been playing the hell outta this recently. amazing game, with a great story. but why the hell does it look as bad as it does? mass effect, while having performance issues, still looked great once the textured had loaded, but my god dragon age looks terrible, it's like a high res xbox game.

also, 1200 points for that piss poor excuse for a quest with the golam...seriously, i got it free with the game and i felt ripped off. i'm scared to buy the other one (the guy at the camp keeps telling me about it) but if it's as short and pointless as that golam quest then i cant see how it can feel like decent value for money. anyone able to say how long it is?

This expansion reveals just how much the Warden's Keep DLC was a rip off. With THIS expansion the actual quest that was falsely represented in the Warden's Keep advertisements IS establishing a new base of operations at Vigil's Keep.

just completed it, and while it was an awesome story, the very last cutscene had random characters missing hair, armour, arms, legs. alister was litterally just a head, gloves and boots. it was rediculous. but i thought nothing of it, some games glitch out once in a while. so i set up a second character to see how different the origin stories really are, i make a dwarf noble, and this is what happens

my own character and almost the entire city of orzammar is like this. and it doesnt seem to want to go away either, reseting the console doesnt do anything, i created a new character, and it was the same. is this really how i have to play the game if i chose to do a second playthrough? it kinda kills the atmosphere...haha

KORNdog, on what did you play the game?

I got it for PC and it ran very well with no visual glitches, also with all settings maxed, this game looks good for the isometric view its intended for (ie Baldurs Gate style).

The expansion looks really good, I started fiddling with the tool kit, its so complex its scary, but at the same time im hoping ill be able to make something good later on.

360, i liked the more personal aspect of the console versions in terms of camera angle and gameplay. sure it stripped away the need for tactics that is present in the PC version, but i wanted something along the lines of mass effect, jade empire, and KOTOR, and on consoles, that is exactly what i got. it was accessible, it was fun, it was awesome. i dont think i would have enjoyed the PC version as much since from what i've seen, it's a lot harder and requires you to control everything when it comes to characters and abilities. the console version, your AI companions just do what they need to do with no imput from you, the player.

Ahh ok, well actually thanks for the info, i never quite understood how the console version worked in terms of controls =)

I will agree that zoomed in, it looks dated :(, maybe bioware should have added some higher definition textures for consoles.

Well i also enjoyed the fact that in mass effect i had teammates, but didnt need to babysit them...

Bioware has said that the recently delayed Return to Ostagar DLC is now live on Xbox 360 with a PC launch to follow. Still no word on a PS3 release though.
