Yeah, Irithyll doesn't make a whole lot of sense geographically to me either. Wonder if you can see it from the bridge. Will have to check that out :)

The bow-guy in undead settlement seems to have a pretty good view. He can hit skeletons on the cathedral roof in the eye from his tower. There an elevator somewhere that brought you up high, but don't remember where it was. had good view over most of the visited areas. Irithyll is a mystery.

Melmoth in the Farron swamp you can climb the tower up to the same bridge that you are on just as the undead settlement starts, you should be able to see Irithyll from there, or at least a mountain in the way or something. But i haven't checked yet. It could just be impossible space, DkS2 did a lot of that, adn tbh BB never felt as connected as Dark Souls 1 did either.

yep, that was the one i was thinking about. Haven't checked yet, but will tonight. in a way Bloodborne and to lesser extent DS3 feels like the worlds have a 2D layout, while DS1 more 3D. There are some clever connections in the DS3 world, but mostly contained within it's own zone, and not connecting different zones in that (at first) mindbending and confusing but awesome way DS1 did.

Well, i don't think it's a big deal even if it isn't perfect. Dark Souls 3 still does a pretty good job with the level design.

But i guess one of the great things about Dark Souls 1 is that it's so open in general. Nothing except for the very end game is walled off and you can progress pretty much any way you like. In Dark 3 and BB it feels like you really only have one path. The areas aren't interconnected quite as much as in DS1. I imagine that that in itself makes some impossible spaces more likely to pop up.

what i meant was that while the zones are often complex 3D constructions, the way they are connected is more linear and could be mapped out 2d on a piece of paper. I'm probably not halfway through, but till now it's been mostly like that. I've been to a few zones where the road split up and i could choose which zone to do next, which is nice. I really like most of the zones i've been to. From great gameplay design to fantastic graphics and art. I often have to stop and take screenshots when i find those postcards vista views or nicely designed interior details.

I think the best way to describe the difference is that in the same way that a single area loops around on itself and connects different points in Dark Souls 3, the entire world does the same in DS1.

Cause i do think that the areas individually are very well designed, it's just the way they connect to eachother that feels linear and kinda boring to me.

Well, as it turns out you can actually see the buildings of Irithyll in the distance while on top of the wall, but their location relative to Farron keep doesn't make much sense to me.

Bloodborne 2 is impossible, then it'd be PS4 exclusive. But hey, if it's releasing next year, then we should be getting info soon. If it is a new Armored Core i'm exciting for that as well. The last one i played a lot was AC: Master of Arena on PS1 and i liked that a lot. Wouldn't mind some more mech destruction with online features and stuff. Even if i would waaaaay prefer a King's Field. That'd sell the PSVR to me, hands down.

Ok well what it means, apparently, is that you just get banned form online play. Which still sucks pretty bad. So yeah, gotta be real careful with the PvP for a while.

As much as i would have enjoued Cooking Gundyr: Estus Soup with friends, im sure From arent making any more Souls games. Your hopes lie with bamco since they own the IP, i think.

Done. Towards the end i checked online for any areas/bosses i'd missed. Turned out there were one area, so went there before the final boss. I died mostly on mobs. especially groups of aggressive mobs stunlocking me. That and the binoculars (having wrong item selected during combat). About halfway in i killed more or less all bosses in 1-3 tries. Probably got better at reading patterns and dodge rolling, which is critical to some late game bosses.

To me the most bullshit bosses were at the middle, the later ones weren't easy by any means, but they were easier to read that the friggin 10-hit combo bullshit that some of the bosses around the mid game has.

Anyway, after this game, i'm pretty much happy that From aren't making any more Souls games. I enjoyed 3, but i think the series is past it's due date for termination. At least in it's current form, which is way too strict.

I didn't play DSII, but played DeS, DS, BB and now DSII. and even though i still enjoy the games, i think From should take a break from the formula not to end up where AssCreed is.

I'm curious to what From could do with different genres. When it comes to the art, especially in BB and DSIII, it's industry leading stuff. There are environments in DSIII that beats everything i've seen elsewhere.
