Yeah sounds like whoever was producing the figure has screwed them (and thus us)

The art cards are going to be released as free PDFs as well.

thats utter crap news. not so much becasue i actually was THAT interested in the figure, but because i can bet the price doesnt drop on my pre-order. i was getting it at a reduced price anyway, but i bet it wont drop to make up for the lack of figure. sucks. i realise the opening line of the article was a joke, but god damn it its so true.

Pretty horrific news, not much of a collectors edition now tbh, yea the only reason i was really gettin it was for the extra ingame content but it hardly justifies any extra cost on our part. Why did they wait so long to announce this though, surely they would have known about this issue long ago?
Anyway, hope the box is a bit smaller now anyway, last thing i need is a big empty box, also i used a discount voucher with my purchase to get it for ~£40 to begin with, i hope they take that into account.

Dear Customer,
We have just been informed by Microsoft this afternoon that there is a significant supply chain issue regarding the contents of the Fable II Limited Edition. This affects the entire market. They have advised us that neither the figurine nor the fate cards are going to be available. Which is incredibly frustrating! However the Limited Edition WILL still come with a bonus disk with all Lionhead developer diaries, concept art viewer, music from soundtrack and new behind the scenes making of video footage, as well as bonus in-game content. We have lowered the price of the limited edition to £39.99 to reflect the altered contents. I do hope this goes some way to alleviating your disappointment.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards, Customer ServicesGAME.co.uk

Oh shut up, this isn't even remotely Molyneux's fault.

no-duh, but its yet another instance of fable under delivering on its primises, be it the game itself or, in this case, the LE version of the game.

i said fable...as in the first one. but im sure fable 2 will under deliver too. i mean, already we've seen proof that the environments arnt as free to explore as was initially stated, not to mention the game doesnt come with online co-op, another undelivered promise (although not a major one imo) lionhead are kings of hype, be it fable or black and white etc, and i'm yet to play a game that exceeds or even meets the hype. was fable and black and white bad games? hell no, i enjoyed them both thoroughly...but to say they delivered on everything lionhead or molyneux himself promised would be silly.

Like you say most everygame out there never lives up to its hype, but i wont be judging any promisses until i play it, as for online coop the latest is that Mr M is saying the patch will be ready day one but who knows on that one.

I was under the impression that there was still going to be online coop, but it's going to require a patch to be released within a week of the game's release. Doesn't seem like too big of a deal to me.

Ron: Oh well then that's no biggie. I just read a couple of posts up that there would be no online coop...but if that's wrong then it's all good. I probably won't use it myself, but it's still a good feature. Local coop is the important part for me.

Are you sure there is going to be local co-op? I can't imagine the framerate/graphical cuts that they would have to pull for split screen.

Yeah, I wasn't saying that it's a bad idea. I don't know if I will even play online co-op at first. When playing a single player game I like to play through on my own at first. That's what I did for Gears and will probably do for the sequel.
