Well it just looks like a fast paced QTE game to me, where as the werehog bit looks more like a beat em up lol.

I just wish Sega would make a proper Sonic game for once :(

I haven't watched this trailer yet because the proxy where I'm at right now doesn't allow FUN, but...

If only they could let us control it Secret Rings style on the PS3 and Wii. Like this the "3D" bits seem to take away rediculous amounts of control.

"Dimps" of Sonic Rush fame is handling the Wii and PS2 versions of the game though so maybe they end up cool. Especially seeing as those can't just dump a load of gratuitous city rendering on top of your head and expect that to be enough.

And even then, there are enough Secret Rings elements here (360/PS3) to make it a decent game in any case I think. As for the werewolf bits, if they're fun I'm not going to complain. I actually enjoyed the more action oriented Shadow and Silver bits of 06. This is a good way to keep everything Sonic-centric while changing up the gameplay a bit.

Ok Sega is totally raping their sonic franchise. I mean, first the give one of the side characters guns an bazookas, then they create a final fantasy like love relationship with a HUMAN, and now their turning sonic into a cock gobbling werewolf...??!

Wow...that music was absolutely terrible!

I'm not even remotely interested in this game. I've gotta agree with Jolli on this one, it definitely just looks like one big QTE, and unfortunately, the werehog parts kind of just look tedious.

It's right now on Gamespot Live. I'm impressed, the flow of this game is great as opposed to the first next-gen Sonic (I played demo of that game), it feels like an old 2D Sonic.

Ok so I was watching the DS sonic RPG also and that looks pretty damn good :D

Turn based for the win , I love the way how when enemies escape you can play a mini game to chase them.

I thought this looked really good. Also Sonic games have always had terrible music ever since Sega came back with the Dreamcast

Yeah, the DS is like a magical bubble where Sonic can still be awesome. :D

I am a tiny bit disappointed that "Sonic Attitude" wasn't announced. I mean Sonic Rush 3 is a no-brainer, but I would've wanted to see it anyhow.

As soon as I'm done cleaning an, uh, aquarium (not mine) I'll dive into the E3 media of today.

I thought it looked good! I can't wait to get it for the 360! I'm also loving the soundtrack they used for the trailer, I hope they put that in the game. I noticed that the game is to be released holiday 2008...damn...so many games. Looks like my Christmas will be spent with videogames again.

Finally saw this trailer and I agree. It's funny, there seems to be a general consensus that because this is pseudo 2D it's a good idea, but I've not been this sceptical towards a Sonic game EVER. In fact, it's very much BECAUSE of the 2D bits.

I guess there could be more control going on than trailers suggest, and the dramatic camera swings could be trailer-only type stuff. The latter seems likely considering how the camera doesn't even show what's in front of you when you're REQUIRED to jump past an obstacle, according to the trailer.

Anyway, I'm happy to keep playing Secret Rings if this turns out to be a stinker, waiting for Rush 3, Chronicles and Sega realising that a proper sequel to SaTSR is the best course of action.

So has anyone seen the news of Sonic and the Black Knight for Wii, I don't have details but it envolves Sonic and a sword ... *sigh, I see this ending badly*

This mass of Sonic abuse is only guna end with tears, its not like Sega are in a position to turn the gaming community against one of the only money makers they have left. (although i think that's already happened)

I mean if you think how many old IP's Sega have that they could bring up to date it makes you wonder why the hell they are spamming this Sonic crap non stop.

Despite sounding like a follow up to the eminent Secret Rings, a bird whispered in my ear that this is a hack and slash type affair.

It IS being made by the Secret Rings fellows and it is indeed a successor to it in terms of tackling another story book (a concept I very much enjoy, by the way) so I remain sceptical but nowhere near as sceptical as I am towards Unleashed.

This is very much because combat was so strong in 06 and Billy Hatcher that I can totally see how they can build an enjoyable game out of it.

Sonic Stadium has dug up some details that frankly makes The Black Knight sound quite promising. Being a sequel to the Secret Rings line of thinking is enough to make me interested, and from the gameplay details it sounds like it won't stray too far from the established formula.

The game looks great. It's only that fast because the people aren't stopping to check out other stuff.

Almost every sonic level can be played fast, but that doesn't mean you have to play them fast. Wow are those people rude. I've never seen so many people blatantly walking in front of the camera or standing in front of the television before when someone is clearly trying to record what is going on on screen.

If they weren't all Obama supporters, it might make me angry :P

This is about as close as they can get to making it play like the original sonic games. Very simple - keep moving forward, jump when necessary.

Not sure what to think about Mr. Stretch Armstrong McHedgehog though.
