At a time when Youtube's subpar video compression has become the norm for most people on the Internet, we refuse to give up quality without a fight. Since 7506 DaysWOW ..... Seriously, this is by far the best experience I had with a game... It's like all my favourite genres melted into one one hell of a game! Absolute madness, Well done EPIC. They clearly showed they are still the boss!
I am at act 4 now ... couldnt stop playing and the Maria storyline was extremely well done. Never expected this much goodness was packed into one game.

Since 7506 DaysYou're right though it would be nice to have a gore/language filter on multiplayer. Certainly something Epic can look into if they have a patch on the pipes.
I have yet to try multiplayer/horde. Right now, I am all focused on the SP.

Since 7600 DaysI have a load of friends who haven't played Gears 2 yet because they figure it's more Gears 1. The only reason I played it when I did was because I was totally skint after getting it by default. It is much more than more Gears 1, it's almost as if the first game is decietful in that sense, setting you up for more repetition and grayness when in fact Gears 2 evokes feelings of multifaceted, thoroughly assembled classics like Zelda or Resident Evil 4.
I completely share your surprise at how much volume there is to it, and whatever the reasons are you wound up playing it in a climate where you'd be totally forgiven for not playing it, I salute them! :)
Since 7506 DaysThe latter however lived up to the hype, I must say, if not exceeded my expectations. It's by all means NO gears 1.5, this is Gears 2.0 at its best and I am so glad I didnt pass on playing it. When this is done, it's FarCry 2. Great games like these simply shouldnt be missed!

Since 7600 DaysIf I could have afforded all the great games coming out at the end of last year as they were coming out I probably wouldn't have played Gears 2 yet, so. I think that's fairly common among people that play essentially all genres and especially over multiple formats like I do so.. it's cool that you somehow wound up playing it because like you say it is fucking ace. :D
Since 7506 DaysThank god for the Play.com deals: FarCry 2 at £18, PoP at £18, The Last Remnant at £18. TRU at £30 from shopto and then gears 2 at £33. slightly over my end of year £100 budget but it was worth it. For now, No games Until Resident Evil 5! Sadly, Fable 2 will have to wait until it's really cheap alond with Dead space and left for dead too.
PS: oh Did I mention that I love COLE!! The guy is hilarious!!! that whole speech on the mic before we get to meet the queen PRICELESS!!!
