4K HDR videos on Xbox One X

I wonder if these will play on my B6 OLED. Had something to do with a codec that several HDR videos couldn't play on it. Will these? Other wise I'm out of luck because YouTube on my TV doesn't support HDR.

They should work perfectly on all LG Oled displays.

Thanks Blim, doing the Lord's work again. I already own Gears 4, Cod WW2 and AssCreed Origins, the HDR look fantastic on them. Gonna see how ROTTR look with HDR before I repurchase it for the third time lol.

Ghost recon was another pleasant surprise. I have it on the pro and bought it again just for the X. Loved the game but never finished it. Excited to co op the game with my Xbox buddies.

Good to finally see a 'kind current' generation console that can do 1080P locked 60FPS ultra settings or semi 4K almost 4K with decent frame rate and settings, what the original XBO and PS4 should have been. I just feel bad for the XBO-X it's arriving to late in the generation to have any impacts, will be fighting against 200 dollar black friday XBO and PS4 sales, and is priced at 500 dollars after the holiday dust settles. Just when it might see its first price drop PS5 will probably be at least seeing rumors on the internetz. Fantastic physical hardware design in terms of size, thermals, internal power supply, temperatures, noise everything across the board. But just seems destined to either fail or just have a mediocre life. Had microsoft announced it as a new console I think it honestly would have been much better off since developers are just going to treat it like a PS4 Pro and occasionally 3rd party devs will give it love but for the most part no. Cut your loses / break even on XBO and break away with newer hardware to get all the 3rd party devs developing first for your box before PS5 hits the market and call it a day. Just my opinion.

For some reason, I cant get these videos to work on Nvidia Shield. HDR doesnt seem to activate on playback (using latest KODI) - am I the only one?

I tried the ACO one on my Shield using Kodi a few days ago, it worked perfectly.

Living up to at least 1080P 60 FPS would have been nice. I guess I am spoiled and grew up when consoles pushed hardware and the company took a loss on hardware and made it up with software. It's just not the case anymore. PS4 and XBO shipping with GPU's that were already 2-3 years old in PC perspectives instead of something bleeding edge and taking a loss on hardware. And their CPU's....... that's an entirely different joke.

Regardless that wasn't really the main focus of my post, I just think XBO-X is really in a odd position. It's success or failure will probably drive the launch schedule of PS5.

Yeh issue for Microsoft is other than again lack of decent WOW exclusives for its new console most are updates on older games..to which Microsoft has on the other xbox consoles and if people wanted a xbox console they have one already and have these games...theres no reason for the normal consumer to buy this new console as its not actually got that many new games that are not on the older consoles,

sony basically won hands down in sale numbers....the xbox one x is oddly timed because while people say its not a FULLY NEW console...in microsofts eyes it is, when the ps5 comes out there is no way Microsoft will be planning another console to be on par with the ps5 or better than it. the xbox one x I think is their last console for atleast another 5 years.

When the ps5 comes out sony is obviously going to make it a lot more powerful and it will be a true next gen console when compared to the xbox one x and they will as always give it a good amount of exclusives. I'm not anti Microsoft by the way, I game a lot on my pc and would love for them to have a good console but they don't have a good amount of exclusives for me and the ones they are I'm not bothered about, plus if they were on pc id get them on that anyway....if they had a good amount of console only exclusives id be all for it.
